Oct 5, 2009 - I'm glad it ain't just me. This is the *only* Ben Affleck scene I can turn to and say "Yeah I like that". My Brother seems to think that it's because that is who he is in real life :)

Oct 22, 2009 - I dont get why people always say bad thing about him or any celebrity.....they are human.......they make mistakes.............its hard enough being a celebrity with out people talkin trash.......let them live THEIR lives

oneway3 Says:

Oct 23, 2009 - Those who have seen "Glengarry Glen Ross" will understand what a cheap attempt this scene was to duplicate Alec Baldwin's performance.

capitalmindz Says:

Oct 24, 2009 - True.

ELchambelan Says:

Oct 24, 2009 - lol!!!!!!

Tarantulisimo Says:

Oct 26, 2009 - I used 2 B a broker/financial advisor, of course as such I looove Glengarry, Wall Street this film as well. All 3 movies ring true 4 me 2 certain degrees in certain scenes, but I would say that this movie most closely parallels my experiences, especially this scene, cuz I actually went thru "the group interview". It's a technique used by a lot of independent firms out there. And that interview was nearly identical 2 this scene, God's truth!!!! And Baldwin's GGR speech happened everyday!!!

Oct 30, 2009 - would have been better if he eventually told everyone to get the f out.

fridogg Says:

Oct 31, 2009 - Afflect was great in Dogma, classic acting

ElephantRage Says:

Nov 5, 2009 - poor man's glengarry. embarassing.

sritger Says:

Nov 8, 2009 - I see this as very different from Alec Baldwin's speech in Glengarry Glen Ross. In GGR, Baldwin's character was demeaning and used his wealth to put the others down. In this film, Affleck's character was using his wealth to motivate and inspire the would-be employees. Apples and oranges, IMHO.

Richard1Nixon Says:

Nov 9, 2009 - I wouldn't say they were trying to duplicate the "Glengarry Glen Ross" scene, I think this scene just paid tribute to it. In the movie they also quote "Wall Street". You can tell the writer loved "Glengarry Glen Ross" and "Wall Street" and it influenced this script a lot.

Nov 20, 2009 - admirable work for affleck. he's no baldwin in glengarry, but still good

carleazbell Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - Hey they showed us this video on my first day at Countrywide--run the same way too. :) (5 year vet., CHL)

happymantis Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - Its personalities like whomever Affleck is portraying is the reason why I'm second guessing my decision to be a finance major, I really would have no patience for dipshit i-banking types who believe they control the universe... the collapse of the financial system clearly proved them wrong.

NegativeNick Says:

Nov 24, 2009 - aren't we all second guessing our majors? maybe if they weren't so fucking greedy we would have a better economy

happymantis Says:

Nov 24, 2009 - Hey, I agree, I wanted to work in corporate finances and just work in the boring day to day administrationof company finances, I have no ambition participating in money speculation, which is basically what these chumps are doing... too bad these arrogant pricks (I go to school with many kids who want to be like an ass Mr. Affleck is portraying)... but yeah, those jobs are sealed by target schools like Columbia, Harvard, etc... so too bad for them... they'll have to get decent jobs.
