Jan 15, 2009 - ya uve got a great collection of classic MOPAR history, this chelsea place is near detroit right? if i ever go there i should go here.
OneBadSuperbird Says:
Jan 15, 2009 - Yup, the Chrysler Proving Grounds in Chelsea, Michigan is about 45 minutes east of downtown Detroit. It is not open to the public though. They used to have some Mopar events there back in the early to mid-1980's but I think all's they have now is an occasional open house for Chrysler employees.

Mar 19, 2009 - 1989 or not, this is cool as heck! I used to own a '67 Formula 'S' Barracuda that was a Sox Martin replica (12.0's in street trim on motor) and EVERY cop in town knew that car. One day I got 3 tickets for simply cruising. The citations were for "altered exhaust" because it was easy to see the fender well Hooker headers that virtually any A-Body Mopar used with a big block engine. Great posts, OneBadSuperbird! Thanks for the memories.

Apr 20, 2009 - WHO WON?
OneBadSuperbird Says:
Apr 20, 2009 - It wasn't about who won. it was about the nostalgia of the two old race cars being out on the track together.

Apr 30, 2009 - This brings back memories thanks for uploading this ,I have been to Englishtown many times and saw Sox and Martin run there and Dick Landy , The Fords and Chevys, there was a Gto there that was powered by a 454 that was a terror and a plymouth cuda 340 that was beating the Hemis

Jun 1, 2009 - These three people are the NHRA stocker legends: Dick Landy Sox Martin... I've been to their garage down at high point, nc.
OneBadSuperbird Says:
Jun 1, 2009 - Really? Dick Landy was out of California and Sox Martin were based in Burlington, North Carolina. If you meant Richard Petty, his shop was in High Point, North Carolina.
Sarcasticscum Says:
Jun 1, 2009 - Ok, well I thought that at one time... well the Paper Tiger was sponsored by Gate City Autos of Greensboro.. Maybe it was Burlington.. its been about 18 years since I was there..
OneBadSuperbird Says:
Jun 1, 2009 - Yeah it's hard to believe so many years have passed by since the golden era of drag racing. We're all getting old.
fastestrhythem Says:
Jun 4, 2009 - just wanted to point out or ask isnt the original motown missle a duster?
OneBadSuperbird Says:
