He was a DJ, and he was a producer - produced The Swim, and another hit song that I can't remember right now -- and worked on producing Jefferson Airplane, or whoever they were before they took on that name -- and made them to 50 takes on a song, then he walked out exasperated. Have to say, Jefferson Airplane aside from Grace Slick's voice wasn't a great musical talent, or a very tight band, really.

Oct 22, 2009 - My future wife and I were there. I actually see us in the 3rd row on the right when they show the audience - amazing performance by Sly Stone on the original Letterman show. Sandra Bernhard also made her first appearance on TV on this show. We saw her on the elevator after the show!
