Oct 29, 2009 - This show bugs the crap out of me. As a stargate fan i can't not watch it, but i miss the old formula. In each of the original series we were introduced to the "Big Bad" in the first episode. At the moment the only bad guy they're facing is their own personal demons. Which i guess is kinda interesting from a psychological standpoint but this is Sci Fi not a drama. Also the characters are lifeless, aside from Carlysle the general guy and the nerdy kid (not gud with names) the rest are dull / rant

Nov 2, 2009 - Well that's why I love it they changed the formula to keep it fresh and new. Battlestar Galactica was Sci Fi but the main core and critical praise from it was the Drama. And this one attracts new fans with the consequence of losing some old ones. This has the formula of BSG, Voyager, and LOST (They show flash backs in SG-U).

Nov 3, 2009 - Because its not lantean design. it predates both atlantis and milkyway gate system. At the best, destiny was built around the same time ancients were throwing gates thorough milkyway. Go rewatch the first few seasons of SG1 and look at the ancient architecture used there.

But anyways, i have liked almost every character so far...a few stupid things here and there but the plot is great, and the actors have been exceptional

Nov 24, 2009 - @DavidToddSchiesler I own every season, i have seen sg-1 about 5times in a row now, and atlantis 3times in a row now....and i have to say that this new show is indeed different, but not for the worse, i have enjoyed it so far...and if you didnt have your head up your ass half the time you could see that as well. Learn to enjoy shows and not look for the flaws in them, or else every damn show you watch will suck (EVEN sg1 and atlantis had annoying flaws in it ...but i got past that)

(which is where the term lantean design comes from) Millions of years can change an entire races sense of design and craftsmanship :P i mean look at humans...we have craploads of different designs, shit...things change every couple of years for us...so why not them? :) so yea...thanks :P

I think i use to be a lot like you who dissed any tv series/movie that resembled another. Funny thing is...is that everything is a rip-off of something, so enjoy each show...if your gonna mock anything just mock their special effects :P not the show itself. (and i'll admit some plots can be bad, but this once seems half decent)
