hassletheman Says:

Nov 19, 2009 - i dont know why people like this guy so much. hes like the new wave jack johnson? he died off pretty quick as will this guy. its just boring music and most of it all sounds the same because he uses the same damn chord progressions. I vote listen to some jazz or melodic metal and dump this shit to the curb.

Nov 20, 2009 - well, personally, i love it, every song is wonderful. i think you are all thinking a bit too far into it. if you do not like the music, fine. go listen to your metal or whatever.

tealosophy Says:

Nov 20, 2009 - I listen to metal an also this type of music, many people do, so please dont asume that if someone likes metal they wont like this kind of music

turtalface Says:

Nov 21, 2009 - Honestly, when did this all turn into insulting each other? Blackhammer I have seen you comment on other Bon Iver videos, trashing others who are simply here for the same reason as you, to enjoy the music. Enough is enough Blackhammer go find something better to do with your life outside of Bon Iver videos on youtube.

xxninjaxxalliexx Says:

Nov 21, 2009 - can we please all stop arguing. blackhammer, please. if we want to see your page, we will. so you can stop trying to promote it by pissing everyone off now. just enjoy the music. honestly.

BlankTV Says:

Nov 21, 2009 - Blackhammer99 is dead. sunset BlankTV

FullCabFlip Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - with this music it doesn't need to be the most technically difficult, it's an emotive thing.. which most teenage wanna be steve vai's don't seem to get.. each to their own.

MrThroughthenever Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - Well, regardless of why its liked, or by which age demographic, I think it is important that it's listeners realize that its simplicity is not what makes it good. Obviously, anyone can play a 4 chord ballad, and sing falsetto, but to do so in a way that produces such an impact, is truly amazing. Good music, no matter how "technically difficult" or not it is, is only as good as the inspiration and talent put into it. Which is what makes this guy so impactual, IMO.

CumminsAddict Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - wait, what? he died? thank god.

slsoxwewssd Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - Just produced a ring-tone from 2:39 to 3:04 of this video on Tube 2 Tones{.]com.

Nov 23, 2009 - Lol... now if only you could join him, then things would be right with the world.

xSwallowingDramamine Says:

Nov 24, 2009 - This is phenomenal. My opinion (:

MrThroughthenever Says:

Nov 24, 2009 - Phenomenal indeed, but perhaps you wouldn't mind going into a little more detail about what makes it so phenomenal for ya? Specifically, what you hear in the song that makes it so impactual for you? Thanks in advance for your commentary. It is much appreciated.

Nov 24, 2009 - What I think is phenominal about this song is that its always reminded me of winter and camping out under the stars. So I like the video because it fits the scene that the song paints for me. Also at 4:29, when all you can see is darkness and flame, the drums sound like crackling wood (which is one of my favorite sounds). I wish I lived in a place like this...was this video made in Wisconsin?

michaelkmadsen Says:

Nov 24, 2009 - Yeah, a minute of guitar soloing or something wouldn't really improve this....

MrThroughthenever Says:

Nov 24, 2009 - Hmm... interesting... Yes the imagery the song provides is quite vivid... But it is important to realize that the image you are getting is a function of your own interpretation of the song. Also, everything you hear in the song, including that drum part, is all perceived in a special way because of what you think the song is about. This is all because of the masterful obscurity in which this song is written... I'm sure you already see it though... Just can't resist a chance to discuss it! =)

Nov 25, 2009 - This is really beautiful!!!

Eoinposse Says:

Nov 26, 2009 - Bon Iver is amazing.

Eoinposse Says:

Nov 26, 2009 - Beautiful song.

YUMMYngbird Says:

Nov 26, 2009 - who knows if we all think of winter and camping because that's the story behind the album that we are all fed up with. I love the album, but this frustrates me anyway.

michaelkmadsen Says:

Nov 26, 2009 - I think you have a point there but I heard the song and it reminded me of camping before i ever heard the story behind the album...maybe thats just what the music reflects? (That last statement may be bullshit....)

michaelkmadsen Says:

Nov 26, 2009 - Yeah, I agree. my perception of the song is also colored by what I'm doing and the environment around me, as well as how I am feeling, among billions of other things that could influece me to see a specific meaning. What's your interpretation of the song?
