Sep 16, 2009 - Playboyoft the Lord told me to tell you that if you would quit hurting his people, repent from your ways, and abide in Him, then he would heal you of your sexual addiction. Love you brother.

Sep 23, 2009 - No my friend, he sounds like a gospel preacher.

Sep 30, 2009 - playboyoft: I'm a man, 29 years old this year, and have never been with a woman, because I long ago decided that I'm either going to find and marry the right woman who is a real Christian, or else I'm just flat out not going to marry. If a person is a real Christian, they will give up anything and everything for Jesus. IT may take some prodding from God, even a lot of prodding in some cases, but eventually, if you want to keep growing, you have to die to self and take up the Cross daily.
ruthelator Says:
Oct 12, 2009 - I said "the prayer" for salvation at a church camp at age 11 under peer pressure. I saw Jesus in the character of my best friend who brought me there. Having no church to grow in. Turned off by tv preachers and boring catholicism, I wandered for 29 years through many "spiritual" paths, looking for Jesus according to various "faiths". It took a huge personal crisis to get me ready to hear and follow God. He drew me in and led me to a true biblical church when I was ready.

Oct 18, 2009 - I too said the prayer....but i dont think anything happened.

Nov 2, 2009 - I am impressed with this man of God. He is teaching te word as it is and has alot of preachers and teachers down. There is more to salvation than the confession. You must live a life pleasing to the almighty God.
MidnightPancakes Says:
Nov 8, 2009 - You sure you're talking to God... or are these conversations are totally subjective? I know you want him to be healed... But I'm sure if he has a testosterone imbalance it's not just gonna go away from being nice and repenting for urges that his body physically can't suppress unless something medically changes or he goes under behavioral cognitive therapy And before you say you KNOW. Be sure you understand that the context of knowing something means you have concrete evidence.
MidnightPancakes Says:
Nov 8, 2009 - And what empirical evidence do you have?... a denial of skepticism is the first sign of ignorance. I bet you don't really know the origin of your religion. Christianity could've easily be established from 4 different religious groups ideals slapped into one system. trying to line it up with Jewish prophesy (which fails to do so)
MidnightPancakes Says:
Nov 8, 2009 - More importantly do you kill witches and observe the sabbath if you follow the old testament... Or are you just one of those... forget about the OLD testament and focus on the nice guy religious guys? I'm sorry but partially believing something just seems like your afraid to commit to these guys... It seems like you're skeptical about your beliefs... I think that listening to pseudoreligion isn't going to help... Just do some private research...look up some science and history.
nunfonseca Says:
Nov 8, 2009 - @MidnightPancakes - Ah, another empiricist. Atheist Bertrand Russel has already shot that elephant in the alley: empiricism can't account for itself. All inductive thought is formally fallacious. As for Jewish propheCy: how does the NT fail in the fulfilling of the birth of the Jewish messiah, born out of a Virgin, called out of Egipt, crushed by his people, etc? Isaiah was pretty specific.
MidnightPancakes Says:
Nov 8, 2009 - I used to think the same thing. Meanwhile, archeology is what I mean by empirical...Aka testable. However, I know the Gospels aren't parallel. I know the messianic prophecies that are referred to some are fabricated, some are misinterpreted...not mention that Jesus' life mimics Horus almost to a tee...and the Virgin could have easily been attributed to The Cult of Isis... And secular historians agree that he lived but... the one claiming he rose from the dead was proven to be fabricated.
MidnightPancakes Says:
Nov 8, 2009 - As a former christian (i'm still a theist), I took comfort in those prophecies and a belief that the bible was free of inconsistencies or contradictions...but that's simply not true. To me the book does not speech on a world wide level historically or scientifically or give any real understanding of the spiritual state of our existence. If you're claiming absolute truth you better able to back it up. Asking for credible testable evidence is not something to look down upon
MidnightPancakes Says:
Nov 8, 2009 - I apologize if I seemed blunt, I'm not trying to be mean, but it really bothers me when people label absolute truth on something when it's been proven not. If you do it by faith I can't touch it and i must respect you're right to believe what you want. Nothing wrong with trying to abide by a good man's teachings. I just want to understand.
Nick3942 Says:
Nov 8, 2009 - the archeologists they will realize that God's power is still here and it is completely supernatural. He can and does heal ANY kind of physical problems. 2 weeks ago i saw a crippled man get up and walk because he was commanded to in Jesus' name. A woman that I am very close to was told many years ago by doctors after her first miscarriage that she would never have children. She's pregnant today. These things happen all the time when God's people seek him. I ask you, whats the p value on that?
MidnightPancakes Says:
Nov 8, 2009 - I'm sorry if I seemed rude but evidence in establishing a belief is incredibly important. For instance, you more than likely disagree with Mormons...yet they still thrive with heavy contradictory archeological evidence. Let me note I am not a atheist and that the human spirit has incredible vitality and in focus of enough mental energy can surpass apparent human limitation, but deeming that archeologists with reveal the supernatural through you're god is highly unlikely.
MidnightPancakes Says:
Nov 8, 2009 - I'd love to know what you're studying I'm younger but I don't want to disrespect you. anyways, I'm still trying to see what evidence is brought to the table. The Holy spirit had to come into place to stay with man on the earth in the "Church age" if I understand correctly... And that always bothered me because it shows a not all powerful God... more than likely due to the limited perspective of the authors. entomology and objectivity instead of emotional subjective bias should give you clarity
Nick3942 Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - @MidnightPancakes To answer your question, I am working on an MBA and master of science in marketing research. MSMR is all about finding answers to real questions, and it is totally applicable to business or any other kind of study. The thing you dont know because of your young age and lack of understanding so far, is that academics who are well versed in their studies can make a study say anything they want. There is no way to eliminate all bias in a study.
Nick3942 Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - @MidnightPancakes no matter what you do, it will always be there. And the really funny thing is that you can use statistics to prove any point you want to make. i can do a study to show that pigs fly or that doctors are less educated than turtles...its all about how you choose to test things and what you choose to test. The more you learn about science the more you understand how feeble minded even the smartest of people are. The only truth for me comes from my experiences.
Nick3942 Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - @MidnightPancakes When i do something, i give myself over wholly to it so that i truly understand it. For example, I used to do drugs, so i became a drug dealer at 16 and went to prison 3 years for making crystal meth. I got out of prison and went to college and graduated in under 3 years with an honors bachelors in marketing with a 4.0. Finally, when i became a Christian, I gave myself over wholly to that as well.
Nick3942 Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - @MidnightPancakes The reason that I am saying all this is not to brag, but to show you that there is no way at such a young age that you could possibly know or understand enough to dethrone the Living God. The reason you are skeptical is because most churches in the world simply "play" church. They are more like social entertainment gatherings and they do not preach the words of God. If you want to know HIm, read your Bible and try to understand it like you try to understand empiricism,
