Oct 30, 2009 - Sorry man . Sat in the park wasn't CTA . They where high energy power band . Not ballets . Yeah they would sell some ballet albums . But Terry's death was the END of CTA . Then it was "Bring on Peter to kept us afloat ." Any group is hard pressed to out play Chicago's first 2 vinyls

Oct 30, 2009 - Kath and Cetera really complemented each other vocally and musically.

Oct 31, 2009 - Nah...that I'm a man thing is just a nothing song. If selling out meant improving their sound and getting slicker, then yeah, they sold out all right. Shame about Terry though. Good musicians should live forever!

Oct 31, 2009 - I love this group. Saw them constatly year after year in the 70's at the Forun in Los angeles and at Anaheim stadium with the beach Boys and Santana. I saw them 5 years ago at the Greek as well. I liked them until they got sappy with their love songs. I liked it when they rocked and the Saturday in the park stuff too. What memories.

Nov 7, 2009 - CTA was their best work IMO. After that they got more and more commercial. Still good but a little too slick and safe for my tastes.
tbcass Says:
Nov 7, 2009 - It's all a matter of opinion. I started listening to them in '69 when their first album came out. After all these years the first album is still the best with the most energy and originality. The second one ok but a little downhill. After that it was slick MOR music. MOR: The term "middle of the road" is used to describe musicians who avoid "edgy" (innovative) material, and who calibrate their musical appeal to blandness — the lowest common denominator of commercial, popular musical taste.

plusplusfort Says:
Nov 8, 2009 - I would include Chicago III too. Probably a softer sound in general than the first two albums, but no less edgy.
stedrod Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - I'm so glad that I was a burgeoning teenage singer/musician in the 60s and 70s. We had these kinds of brilliant performers to try to emulate. And now, nearly 40 years later, it still kicks ass. What a completely engulfing period of music history.

Oct 30, 2009 - Chicago Transit Authority were awesome...one great double album...then we got Chicago... second album, not too bad... then it all went downhill....evrything after belongs in "the anals" as Phatboy mistakenly put it. Everything else done by Chicago was cringeworthy shite.
