Feb 27, 2008 - Jeff - you know I love you, but what are you doing with your tone in this one? Not the best sound but great playing as always!

Feb 28, 2008 - i agree just a little too much chorus effect : ) like he needs it lol!

Sep 27, 2008 - Lookie is wrong. It's from the Champion album. He's playing the guitar line from the song. I'm glad Jeff hired a lame drummer here. His bass is all that needs to heard , .. really,.. who is listening to that terrible drummer, lol.

Oct 30, 2008 - Well, could be the fact he's playin' o a crappy piece of electronic drums? Just a thought. It's 8 years ago

Dec 24, 2008 - Great playing, great tune, but Jeff's chorus GOTS TO GO! Way too much FX on the accomp. Great to hear Scott Kinsey in different line ups!
curbowman Says:
Feb 6, 2009 - Yes, it's from the Champion album; I think it's "Marabi". By the way my vinyl copy is signed by THE MAN!
GaryNull Says:
Feb 7, 2009 - Vinyl, lol. I had to get rid of about 600 albums because I was tired of dragging them around when I moved. I belive I had the first 3 Bruford albums (Jeff's best playing) on vinyl. I was at the "Bruford Tapes" concert, .. but the second night of that gig, not the one that was recorded. Had that on vinyl too, lol.

Feb 27, 2009 - Dan is from the Pat Metheny Group. Pat and Jeff would never play with a lame drummer. They never have and never will.

May 19, 2009 - At around 9:40 a woman approaches the altar and leaves an offering for the god of the keyboards. :-)

May 26, 2009 - Its Cannonballs tune Marabi.
Intenzity Says:
Jun 6, 2009 - Jeff rocking the porn mustache and the fanny pack while simultaneously cutting heads. Nice. Sweats too.
Intenzity Says:
Jul 1, 2009 - no kidding. For all his amazing note choices his tone makes him almost impossible to listen to. Its that bad.
Intenzity Says:
Jul 1, 2009 - Its not the recording, he always plays like that now with waaaaay too much chorus, listen to his last few self-released albums. He is so awesome but his tone is so awful. Its a shame.
tacomadc Says:
Jul 4, 2009 - Jeff continues to amaze! He's like Holdsworth - many imitate - but no one's even in his league! (But Jeff, lay off the jelly donuts!)
tacomadc Says:
Jul 4, 2009 - People are right - man his tone is suckin'. Lay off the echo and chorus and play some bass. It sounds just like later Jaco - get your own tone Jeff!
Lifesucksdie123 Says:
Jul 13, 2009 - wtf, this looks like it was shot in some twelve-year-old boy's bedroom. and just for the record, i have a sneaky suspicion there's a few salami sandwiches in that hip-sac of his. one for scott kinsey and two for himself@)(#*%^
Nekronaut321 Says:
Jul 30, 2009 - Sounds like jaco? the linear phrasing. listen to some berlin and say that he is a jaco wannabe. becuse that is so wrong:P noone plays the bass like Berlin. you should say that : get your own tone Jeff! to all the clones there in the world.
Nekronaut321 Says:
Jul 30, 2009 - thats a matter of taste. not a subjective fact.:)
tacomadc Says:
Jul 31, 2009 - I'm talking only about his tone, which is thin, too chorusy, and tendsd to break up on high notes. Not his playing which is obviously in a class by itself. I think his tone has never again been as good as when he played the black jazz bass with Bill - and that was probably recorded directly into a Neve board.
4875128 Says:
Sep 12, 2009 - Hahah! XD
pmurph1981 Says:
Sep 12, 2009 - Look at Jeff Berlin in a sweatsuit and a moneypack. It was a formal tradeshow I guess.
