Nov 15, 2009 - Hmm fair point... atm it looks favorable for them but when things start to look bad the there is the possibility...for example, if Americas military were to become fully or mostly privatised, then Obama decides to pull out of both Iraq and Afghanistan or decides the use of PMCs is wrong etc then blackwater, hart etc are going to lose massive contracts and millions of dollars. then there IS potential for overthrow. or a less overt tactic such as assassination backed by the industry

No point wasting time overthrowing a government when you make money in some other way. eg. protecting merchant ships from piracy and etc

Private military forces shouldn't necessarily be operating in wartime theaters, but should maintain their original purpose of protection services.
