Jun 9, 2009 - EVER.

GymFloozie Says:

Jun 9, 2009 - I guess I ought to write Wang Tiantian a letter to let her know that Elfi doesn't like the easy transitions from low to high bar. Elfi didn't say anything in this brodcast, but Wang needs to know it.

mistybabe5489 Says:

Jun 14, 2009 - cool, thats the same leo that steliana nistor wore at the 2007 worlds.

skycub99 Says:

Jun 30, 2009 - yea, i gotta say, it's a totally different sport now, we can't even really compare the two anymore. but we all love Nadia regardless. : )

frostdiamond1 Says:

Jul 2, 2009 - Whether that's true or not, for Americans it was a big deal. Not only because she was the first AA gold medalist in our history--that's only half of it--but her win also popularized gymnastics here and made it possible for Americans to believe they could be competitive in an Eastern European dominated sport. Without Mary Lou it's very possible later American winners would never have existed, like Shannon Miller, Carly Patterson, or Nastia Liukin.

Jul 14, 2009 - The scores on vault was really a joke in this Olympics How can Carly manage to get a 9.375 with both feet landed outside the boundary? Compared to khorkina's 9.462( 9.9SV!!) and Pavlova's 9.425( nearly perfect DTY)

anfsurfer19 Says:

Jul 19, 2009 - she might not have been the best that year but unfortunately its all about who's best on that night. carly just happened to have a good night

jovani2293 Says:

Jul 24, 2009 - I know. Khorkina should have won the gold. Carly should have got the silver.

jovani2293 Says:

Jul 24, 2009 - The commenter says Carly gets hit hard. She was so not hit hard. She was out of line and out of bounds. She was given a generous score.

carriemydear Says:

Aug 4, 2009 - amazing that both olympic champions, nastia and carly came from woga :)

GymFloozie Says:

Aug 21, 2009 - And Daniela Sofronie comes from the same city as Simona Amanar.

JessieDeelight Says:

Aug 24, 2009 - Carly was fantastic...I just always feel the title belonged to Svetlana...at least once. Dont misunderstand me,Carly earned this Gold :)

Gr33nkiwi Says:

Sep 8, 2009 - I wished that Sveta won this one. I route for America but Svetlana is just such an amazing gymnast. Her vault was totally under in my opinion.

Gr33nkiwi Says:

Sep 8, 2009 - God Al gets on my nerves. He says "defined by Nadia nearly 20 years ago," but Nadia got the perfect ten in 1976 nearly 30 years before 2004.

carriemydear Says:

Sep 16, 2009 - pavlova deserved the bronze :/

missmouse35 Says:

Sep 20, 2009 - what makes u say that? i think khorkina had a good run, she competed in 3 olympics if u remember. and in 2003 she won the world AA title and carly took silver. she also won gold on bars in both 2000 and 1996 and probs a lot more. Carly only got to go to 1 olympic games and then she was through, she probobly doesnt even have half the medals that khorkina has. now i still think that khorkina deserved the silver, but i also think that it was nice to see a change in the standings too

missmouse35 Says:

Sep 20, 2009 - both feet outside the boundary is a .3 deduction, and if carly's wault was out of a 9.7 and everything else she did was perfect except for maybe one thing that caused a .025 deduction, then a 9.375 she gets

missmouse35 Says:

Sep 20, 2009 - definatly pavlova was amazing, and i hope that she tries to make the 2009 worlds

sososocy Says:

Sep 21, 2009 - Her start value was 9.8 (DTY) after 0.3 being deducted for landing and a big hop (-0.1) it became 9.4 and you think her forms was so perfect that no more than 0.025 should be deducted from her? I don;t think so

scattywah Says:

Sep 27, 2009 - Sadly, she's out of it. Pavlova had a serious knee injury shortly after the Beijing Olympics. She just started training again in August, though, so hopefully it wasn't career ending.

PLANETIMAGE1 Says:

Oct 10, 2009 - If you watch some documentaries about Svetlana Khorkina, You will know what a great gymnast Svetlana Khorkina is.With an unprecedented nine gold, eight silver, and three bronze World Championships medals, Svetlana Khorkina is one of the most successful female gymnasts of her era and has been cited as a fan favorite in various polls in gymnastics magazines. She also won gold in 2003 world championship (beated Carly Patterson). Svetlana Khorkina definitely deserved the gold, but sadly it's silver

PLANETIMAGE1 Says:

Oct 10, 2009 - Svetlana Khorkina has been a gymnast for 10 years, Carly has only been a few year.Svetlana Khorkina went to three olympics(1996-2004), carly only went to one. Svetlana Khorkina was 25, Carly is only 16. You see what I mean, Svetlana Khorkina is a true legend in the sport.

skycub99 Says:

Oct 25, 2009 - I will never understand what people saw in Khourkina... i just don't get it. i thought she looked brittle and awkward, and i have never been fond of watching rhythmic gymnast bodies doing artistic gymnastics skills. It's like sending an ice dancer into a hockey game, just seems like a bad idea. But the judges loved her, and she has the medals to prove me wrong. So it must just be me.

PinkDancer96 Says:

Nov 15, 2009 - Actually at this time Carly had been a gymnast for 10 years. I think you mean competiting as an international? I think Khorkina AND Carly are both amazing gymansts and both deserve credit.
