Jul 14, 2009 - 2:19 really show's that the over dubbing is flo...and even more they shudda re-recorded that shty!
MasonOnTheFly Says:
Jul 15, 2009 - I love this version too . . . I have it on the Motown Story as well. Much more vocal background . . . wish this would have been the release.
reggie44 Says:
Jul 16, 2009 - Diana re-recorded her own lead vocal; it was a common practice in the 60's called "doubling" or "double-tracking". No one else could match Diana's performance that perfectly, although obviously Flo and Mary blended well with her as a group. Props to the Funk Brothers, layin' down a groove so solid it's never been duplicated!

Jul 16, 2009 - right...but it's like several versions where u kan still here Flo's vocal but HERE it is not as blended w/ diana's vocals..her timing is off under diana's lead...she forms her words different from diana..and some other versions u don't hear this mistake but u can hear flo still...but yes ive also heard the diana dubbed version too..and ur right..about matching diana's performance that perfectly!
tpg911 Says:
Aug 5, 2009 - Flo had a stronger voice, Diana better present to lead the group.
RUDYNATACHA Says:
Aug 10, 2009 - That's Mary.

Aug 30, 2009 - this song is so true in many marriages and engagements
feeleffect Says:
Sep 2, 2009 - Their PEAK song!! Although they had some good hits after "Keep me Hangin on" NONE matched this Holland-Dozier-Holland Classic. I think this is the BEST song they did with H-D-H. This was Motowns Best in 1966.
problem49 Says:
Sep 9, 2009 - RIP Flo; lot's of us still miss you like crazy.
carolinaguy321 Says:
Sep 18, 2009 - Flo was a vocal powerhouse. This version proves why Diana and Berry saw her voice as a threat.
tpg911 Says:
Sep 21, 2009 - Thank you. Flo had the voice. If you combined both Flo's and Mary's voice - just on background. True power.
Rocko671 Says:
Sep 22, 2009 - Wow! I love this song but never heard this version. Simply amazing!
TheMAYRENE Says:
Sep 23, 2009 - diana was the true diva
cameronfox Says:
Sep 30, 2009 - I always found it odd that when Mary, Flo, and Cindy sang backup their mics were turned down, but when the Adantes sang, their mics were turned up. Doesn't really make sense to me. This is a rare treat. Thanks for posting.
Schwartzwolf Says:
Oct 1, 2009 - That is a very interesting observation. Thanks for sharing it!
Juliaflo Says:
Oct 22, 2009 - Miss Ross and company did Holland, Dozier and Holland impeccably proud. Those of you who agree, raise your hand.
MrUpshotKnothole Says:
Oct 26, 2009 - Schartzwolf's claim about Flo and Diana singing both lead on this song does have some merit. The alternate version on the Anthology of this song the double tracking mistakes stand out a lot more where it does sound like two different leads doing the same lines.

Nov 1, 2009 - This tune was recorded on June 30, 1966 - it was released by Motown on October 11, 1966 and it reached #1 on November 19, 1966- it was also considered to be the Supremes' foray into the rock 'n roll music scene--
