Nov 20, 2009 - blacklockg, Are you sure? The PS3 shouldn't function correctly if its red :S... The wavelengths of red light are too long to read a bluray disc. A bluray disc requires the shorter wavelength of a blue light to read the pits in a bluray disc because they are far smaller. This is why a bluray disc has a far larger storage capacity over DVDs and other disc mediums - blue has a wavelength of around 450nm I believe, where red has a wavelength of around 650nm; therefore far more pits can be placed.
