It increases the dignity and beauty of our worship, honours God, imitates the angels' worship in heaven (Rev. 8:3-4), the smoke symbolises our prayer rising to God's throne, and the destruction of the incense symbolises the sacrifice. It also fulfills the prophecy of Malachi that Gentiles would everywhere worship God with incense.

And even though we can now say the Latin Mass without specail permition from a Bishop Very few Priest will do a LAtin MAss in their Parish.

Nov 20, 2009 - I agree Latin and Greek are beautiful languages to worship our Lord in. It is very sad that Priests ttoday do not know Latin. Unfortunatly the Holy Father made it optional. So Priests decided if they want to say the mass in Latin. There are a few churchs that have stayed with the Latin Mass but they broke away from the Catholic church.

Nov 20, 2009 - Well they felt that Vatican II never should have happened. They felt that the changes that were made no longer made us Catholic and didn't want to change. So now they no longer view any of the popes after pius XII are the sucessors of Peter. So they disconnected themselves from the Church....although they still call them selves the Catholic church.
