"I'm not ever gunna know if I'm right or wrong" implies that when you die you don't know if what you believed in was correct. This song can be interpreted in many ways, like a guy who wasted over 1 year on doing nothing before he choose the right direction of his studies, his own way instead of his friends that choose computer releated studies and even tryed to convice him to do the same.
