May 28, 2009 - are the files broken into rars, but when the download is done it auto puts all of the rars back together?
Shad0wK Says:
Jun 6, 2009 - In most cases yeah, it extracts the contents of the rars into a seperate folder and then deletes the rars themselves (depending how you've got your Software configured)

Jun 21, 2009 - the giganews trial offer says 10 connections.. i'm only seeing 3 in grabbit?
Shad0wK Says:
Jun 21, 2009 - Grabbit defaults the connections to 3. Can't remember exactly how as I use Newsleecher but you can change it. You need to right click on the server I think and select 'Manage Server' or something like that. You can then change the default connections to 10. Hope that helps :)

Jul 21, 2009 - Double check you have the right server address. Don't select SSL unless SSL is in the address of the server. If you do select SSL and have the non-SSL address it won't work; likewise if you don't select SSL but do have the SSL address it also won't work. Also, double check your username and password are correct by loggin into the Giganews or Astrawebs site depending on where you're signed up to. If it's still not working pm me your email address and I'll forward you a better client.

Aug 27, 2009 - Once you are done using the trial, is there a way to 'refresh it' so you can keep using it? I read that changing you MAC address will be able to do that. Is that true?
Shad0wK Says:
Aug 28, 2009 - Not as far as I'm aware no. Never really looked into it though as I go via Astraweb now and much cheaper than Giganews. Changing your Mac could possibly work though your outside IP address would have to be changed also. Not to mention the fact that changing your Mac address could lead to all other complications and is actually quite a difficult thing to do. The Mac address is hardcoded into your Network Card to be unique so wouldn't even want to risk it. Do let us no if you manage it tho

Sep 5, 2009 - wats the diffrence between the unlimited package and the unlimited DSL pack
Shad0wK Says:
Sep 5, 2009 - The only difference is the speed. Unlimited will cap your downloads at a 1Meg limit. Unlimited DSL will let you download at your full speed. e.g. If you have an 8 Meg connection unlimited will only let you download at 100Mb/s whereas Unlimited DSL would let you download at 800Mb/s. A big difference. Remember that as long as you go via my affiliate link on my site the Unlimited DSL will only be $11 as opposed to $15 if you go direct. Hope that helps :)

Oct 1, 2009 - where do your downloaded files go after they've been downloaded off of newsleecher? i cant seem t find them anywhere. can u help me plz. would be much appreciated. thx!
Shad0wK Says:
Oct 1, 2009 - Can't remember where the default directory is (think its where Newsleecher is stored; i.e. program files, newsleecher, etc) but if you go into options, and then 'downloads'. It will tell you where they are stored and you can change it if you want.
