Tirdfish Says:
Nov 8, 2009 - @Oceanmachine27 don't be so stupid!! The closest to this Buckley classic is This Mortal Coil's version. Get educated FFS.
Oceanmachine27 Says:
Nov 8, 2009 - No need to be mean. I do thank you for the suggestion, but the singer of TMC uses too much melisma for my taste, and the musical texture seems flimsy. I think we can all agree though that it's a tremendous song, no matter who covers it.
zamiatine Says:
Nov 9, 2009 - Well, This Mortal Coil's version and the nasal voice of Fraser can't be compared to this beauty...I don't even want to talk about frusciante. It's all a question of tastes. But please show some respect to the genuine geniuses.
IsabellaInc Says:
Nov 9, 2009 - Wow, I remember the first time I heard this driving with my sister in her car. We were both speechless. We started doing this with our band immediately after that.
IsabellaInc Says:
Nov 9, 2009 - Yeah, I have trouble seeing how Frusciante could have the nerve to do this song after it's been done by Buckley and, arguably another amazing singer, Liz Fraser.
Tubenjunge Says:
Nov 13, 2009 - Is this this is standard tuning?
adamfortune Says:
Nov 14, 2009 - yeah its in standard tuning, just with a capo on the 2nd fret. the song is based around D, A, G and Bm (relative to the capo)
Vispateresa3 Says:
Nov 14, 2009 - I loved This Mortal Coil's version in the 80's but I have to admit now I prefer the original. Wow....
Tubenjunge Says:
Nov 14, 2009 - @adamfortune i figured it out with capo on 2nd fret by my own. Its E,B,A,Cm...but as we can see he has the capo on the 3rd fret. So i assume either my guitar is out of tune or he tuned his one uuhmm...down/up?Uh im confused right now. But thx anyway
Tubenjunge Says:
Nov 14, 2009 - ;-) tuned his semitone up

Nov 16, 2009 - I like it, but I do prefer Frusciante's version, probably because I heard that first.

Nov 18, 2009 - i personally prefer John Frusciante's version. but this version is still godly (:
AnRTPgA Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - wtf Ivri Lider ujst butchered it. try John Frusciante. he puts so much emotion in his cover
DeclanOlsen Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - Ivri's cover is .. more related to the love scene in the movie, the bubble.
animalbarra Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - che voce cazzo!!
dheyo Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - Great song, I too prefer John Fruciante's version but nevertheless Tim came up with the original...
MissTopanga Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - yup, johnny fru's version is the best one there is.
frantomo Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - The TMC version beats it all.. Just immortal..

Oceanmachine27 Says:
Nov 8, 2009 - If you think THIS is good you should listen to John Frusciante's cover version on "The Empyrean". I've never heard anyone strive for such emotion in their singing.
