Jul 12, 2009 - It is an autoharp

Orientallightning Says:

Jul 12, 2009 - As Philmography stated, it is an autoharp. There are keys that you press that act as hammers to dampen certain strings and the remaining strings sound chords. The strings are either tuned to a diatonic or chromatic scale; if the diatonic scale is used, then certain strings are doubled.

Harphoney Says:

Jul 12, 2009 - Orientallightening im not sure why you went into such detail how to play the autoharp, in my comment i stated that i also play, therefore i know the difference between diatonic and chromatic.....nonetheless thanks for your comment. :)

Boredomaddict Says:

Jul 13, 2009 - I am learning to play this song, but I don't think I'll ever sound as good as them together; I'm no match :P

Jul 27, 2009 - Is it me or is has Christopher Guest not gotten the recognition he deserves?

Gabecky Says:

Jul 27, 2009 - I agree!

adjectivesarecool Says:

Jul 28, 2009 - Hysterical and beautiful at the same time. For some reason, I think the autoharp is an inherently funny instrument.

jimmyleemore Says:

Jul 30, 2009 - You look around for talent and this what you find. What a great show.

TheBlueFlamingo Says:

Jul 31, 2009 - I think Crabbeville in autumn would look quite magnificent.

CartoonFan56 Says:

Aug 1, 2009 - Just keep practicing and you'll get it. That's what the actors had to do.

berkeleyhome Says:

Aug 3, 2009 - singularly...one of the best folk love songs ever

SpookieLoveCookie Says:

Aug 11, 2009 - it's Crabbetown

HectorMcfector Says:

Aug 19, 2009 - Quite likely my favorite performers of all time! Hilarious as comedians, and then this? AMAZING!

merv1618 Says:

Aug 20, 2009 - y'know, i really like all the songs in that movie. like musically, they're genius. ...well except for the stuff the new main street singers sing, lol

anglicansag Says:

Aug 21, 2009 - The mind of a Comedian is the most underrated commodity on Earth. People equate Comedians with clowns, buffoons.... Nothing could be further from the truth. Comedians, especially good comedians, have an intellectual vigor that is the wellspring of their success. It should be no cause of wonder that these two Gloriously Gifted Comedians have multifarious talents. ALL the cast of the Christopher Guest films are such. This film, in particular, is PURE CREATIVE GENIUS. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

gmtobehere Says:

Aug 29, 2009 - comedy aside, this is a great song

evelau Says:

Aug 29, 2009 - I was really shocked at how beautiful Eugene Levy's singing voice is when I first saw A Mighty Wind.

VipersHockeyLeftD Says:

Sep 19, 2009 - Really beautiful song. Didn't know either could sing or play. This is one of the most beautiful songs I've heard in a long time... wish they played it on the radio.

digitalpretzel Says:

Sep 27, 2009 - the real genius behind the songs in Mighty Wind.. at least Mitch and Mickey and The Folksmen.. is it's Parody, without expense of the Genre. It's great.

mvbeckril Says:

Sep 28, 2009 - Such a beautiful song, when Ohara's harmonies kick in it's enough to make a grown man shed a tear. :) It's too bad today's music doesn't have the integrity and pureness of music like this.

37view37 Says:

Oct 3, 2009 - I'll have to pull this film out again. Levy and O'Hara bring such heart to this film. As I recall, Mitch is alomost literally crazy until he's singing, then complete clarity kicks in and this wonderful set of songs happens. Agree with below, it brings a tear to the eye. Levy/O'Hara have worked together going way back and their sometimes partnership is given a touching, albeit fictional, backstory in this film. They clearly love each other - platonically - in real life. Inspirational.

Nov 4, 2009 - Huge fan of Christopher Guest in general, and especially A Mighty Wind. This song is so beautiful my fiance and I are having some of our friends play it at our wedding.
