Nov 8, 2009 - Why is that the layman (man/woman on the street) has more of a real answer to this question than the "experts" in our own government??? Just goes to show that if real viable answers are that easily obtainable and we're still not able to prevent hunger then the real problem lies at the top of our governmental infrastructure...like Michael Jackson said "they don't really care about us!"

Nov 9, 2009 - What I find amazing is that not a single person interviewed gave an answer as to how we should help. "Take a leadership position? To do what? We are using up resources? We are paying for them, and resources havent been depleted last I checked. Take more active role? And do what? We have been feeding the world as much as we can, the problem is not us, the problem is the governments of those hungry countries. N. Korea, Zimbabwe, Haiti etc..

The entire population of the planet can fit nicely into one of our medium-sized States. Also, we have technology right now, to feed everybody, for free, forever. But, again, the world's elite stifle technologies and buy up patents to prevent this.

Nov 9, 2009 - With the money wasted this year bailing out the banks. Me and every other American out of work could build massive green houses on the great plains. In which could provide the entire world with food year round. I'm just a dumb red neck from Tennessee but even I can see how to solve this problem. Lets give the world good reason to love us not hate us. Lets feed them this would take care of our national dept quickly with in 10 years more than likely. We are Americans we can make my vision real!

Nov 9, 2009 - You can spend a billion dollars to stop a famine and people will eat for a few months....and then starve. What we need to have is economically sustainable communities and planned pregnancies. If a community---anywhere in the world---has jobs w/ salaries that enable the workers to buy goods, they won't need charity. Also: if impoverished communities could be granted farmland and seeds so they can grow fruits and vegetables, they could have a sustainable food source.

Nov 9, 2009 - People are hungry because they lack the resources, education, and job skills to get what they want. There's too many illiterate people in the world. There's too many evil government officials that murder people and deny resources to them. Also: certain corporations benefit from limiting the resources on earth. Vast amounts of government land and privately owned land are not available to men who are starving. They have to beg for a job. All the global resources belong to a few people.

Nov 9, 2009 - "certain corporations benefit from limiting the resources on earth" thats a misnomer, corporations have no use from "dead weight" resources, they are only beneficial when they are being sold. Privately owned land isnt just sitting there, it is used for production. Government owned land is indeed being denied to those who can use it for production. Beg for a job? If there are no jobs , there will be no jobs, be it gvt. or private sector

Nov 9, 2009 - This is not a good good solution, but I'll say it to make a point: wealthy people don't want to pay people in third world countries more than USD1 per hour to work. BUT...they will spare no expense when it comes to buying illegal drugs. They will snort cocaine and shoot up heroin and slobber over themselves like babies. So...if people in third world countries supplied these drugs to the wealthy, they'd get a LIVING WAGE! That's how sick this world is.
