Nov 21, 2009 - @magickninja369 The wickedness remains, but one false justification is eliminated. Eventually, through historical experience, we will come to understand what is truly "the best thing for society" or "the best thing for moral justice." But with God, there is no lesson to be taken from history; we can't look back and say "As it turns out God wanted X, not Y." We can do that with, for example, our experiences with communism and capitalism, but not with God.
NotEnoughPayne Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - @magickninja369 With God, history only tells us: don't listen to people who say they represent "God's will" - history does not clarify God's will, because "God's will" is an arbitrary thing. But communism vs. capitalism is not an arbitrary thing, and it is a debate we can study and learn from based on historical experience. God isn't, and never will be, simply because religion is religion...faith trumps reason for almost everybody, and that's the problem here.
magickninja369 Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - actually we can. If a Christian is willing to admit that their interpetation wasn't the correct one, or that they don't have the right to govern the world. God never once said He wanted to govern the world, actually He gave the world to Lucifer, and banked on the fact that mankind would choose good over evil. As I said, there is not much difference between a real Christian and a real Atheist, we all want the same thing. For people to pull their head outta there ass and wake up!
NotEnoughPayne Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - @magickninja369 You're not the person I should be speaking to, sir. Take that as a compliment.
NotEnoughPayne Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - @magickninja369 But how can you possibly say what is and is not the correct interpretation of SCRIPTURE?! The Bible prescribes a number of things that simply aren't to the benefit of a free, open, and prosperous society, just as it proscribes many things that are innocuous or acceptable (or should be acceptable) in the modern world. Isn't that a problem for Christianity? Why use the Bible at all? And if one does not use the Bible to interpret God, is he still a Christian?
magickninja369 Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - Lol I will. I might be a man of Faith, but that doesn't mean I'm illogical or irrational. Men, like government officials, who claim to be Christian men, only do so to get more votes because they know that's what the majority wants to hear. But any man with 2 brain cells can see all they really care about is greed, money and power. Which, is in direct opposition to both of our agendas and both of our belief structures.
magickninja369 Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - Well, in biblical terms, the reason it's called the living bible is because it speaks differently to us all. And one scripture can have a different meaning at a different time in our life. this might sound convienent, but that is how it is written. Man was never suppose to build social groups based on these beleifs, but personal relationships. It's when people start to impose these beliefs on others, or twist them for their own gain that it poses a problem for everyone.
NotEnoughPayne Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - @magickninja369 Alright alright, you've silenced me...for now. I'll be checking in later to see what else you've got to say.

MickyChicky33 Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - Many more wars were caused simply for the selfish gain of a country and its people.(I'm talking about the period back when the religious wars were going on) And the worst wars of all time were caused by a sociopath and a country that was being squeezed to death, not religion. And atheism causes a lot of trouble as well, most athiests are just self-righteous like most religous people. Because most Christians aren't really going to heaven. They don't live for him, so they cause problems.
MickyChicky33 Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - According to you it's irrational, who are you to judge that it's irrational? We beg the question because we are all supposed to witness to others and bring them to the Lord, it's our job. He did create us to be like that. Innocent and happy, in the Garden of Eden. But Satan made us take knowledge and we had to rely on our own strength and not God's. So we became evil and not good anymore. Leading to the problems.
MickyChicky33 Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - If there was empirical evidence then it couldn't be considered faith anymore. And besides, I could swear that atheists follow a parable or something like that in the Bible. I can't remember which one, but at some point I had a few problems of the world explained through the Bible and atheism was one. If I remember I'll tell you.
ericleb01 Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - So... the overturn of the Roman empire wasn't fueled by religion? The holocaust had absolutely nothing to do with religion? How about 80% of social conflicts? Muslim and Islam fights? The only thing Atheists want you ALL to understand, is that religion is nothing but a money-making backdoor to wars, hatred and separation. The problem with you and all of the others is your close-mindedness. You'll make excuses in order to be right and reject the cold hard facts science is THROWING at you.
sugercube99 Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - so your saying if i don't believe in god then i will go to hell? (now if you dont understand what im about to type dont worry see im a atheist who has to pretend to be a christen for my family) so tell me how can i believe in something that supposedly made his self that's like saying a baby made its self like one day a baby just magically appeared no 9 monthes 10 really of shit never happened?also your saying (your) god is forcing religion upon people and that doesn't make him a good god D:

Nov 21, 2009 - @Obnoxiousist Yes he has, because satan is natas, which means "not all toohpicks are sad" which is a phrase satan used to make a nuclear bomb. God though that the bomb was a cake, but the cake is a lie. That's why god ate it and it sent him to hell, god has killed alot of people so he was sent to hell. THere he met satan, and satan made a bitch out of god. oh no now i'm going to see Satan and the bitch this is ridiculous. that biblestuff
aduysbv Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - Fuck God. Religion will set back mankind as long as it exists.

magickninja369 Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - Lol. To be honest dude, the average Christian is absolutely full of shit. They do not practice what they preach, they do not follow the bible, to be honest, they probably have no idea what it says. This is why I have no denomination, I simply consider myself a child of God, and I follow the written laws of mankind the best I can and I admit when I'm wrong. People are evil, no doubt about it, without the threat of punishment, they'd go apeshit. Its people who are good simply to be good who matter
