Nov 17, 2009 - I think the joke is that it's a banal thing to say. The skit is already pretty funny, so throwing in a mundane comment about Karl Marx calling offsides is slightly more subtle humor. Plus it's exactly what you would expect an opposing player to argue in a real match.
