Mar 17, 2009 - I'm rather disappointed at Yasmin Khan's response at the end of the video...she fails to understand that the American view on transgenders is very different to the South Asian view, and i dont think she should blame the 'hijra' totally for their poor status in society. They're discriminated against in job apps etc - how then do you expect them to be highly productive members of soc? They still try to do what they can....

I lived in the Middle East and some Westerners will wear hijab, or long skirt, and etc. Some of the places that employ the Westerners appreciate that they are trying to show the customers/clients/patients that they ae trying to respect the country (i.e. doctors without borders).
