Nov 13, 2009 - Lets be honest arent we expecting a bit too much from Australians? Dont you know their history? The Aboriginies that a left are told to be grateful for their existence.

thankulord13 Says:

Nov 14, 2009 - We might not be perfect but we are light years ahead of Austrialia when it comes to race relations.

TheJodielouise Says:

Nov 14, 2009 - Peter2o6 - don't get me started, people in glass houses should not throw stones. I have studied the history of America and i definately do not believe that you treated your native population well!!! Tell me where the aboriginals have been told to be grateful for their existence??? If you are going to sprout shit, back it up!!!!!

gnarkillkicksass Says:

Nov 15, 2009 - Let be honest, your clearly an American who has never stepped foot on Australia, let alone your trailer park for that matter.

gnarkillkicksass Says:

Nov 15, 2009 - Actually racial crime is much worse in the States and Indigenous Australians are entitled to free housing, education and medical by the government so no - America is not "light years" ahead of Australia in race relations. In fact in 1830s six white men were hung in NSW for murdering a black man. Meanwhile slavery was alive and well in the states. I'm not trying to say Australia is perfect, no country is, but don't try to take the moral high ground if you don't know the issue.

V8R0CKV1C Says:

Nov 15, 2009 - its not a talent show... its a variety show... all these american programs and news reports and making look like a talent show!!!

thankulord13 Says:

Nov 15, 2009 - Actually Australia is having problems with Indian immigrants now and lets not for get the race riots on the beaches just a couple years ago. Again bringing up stuff from the 1830's doesn't take away from the fact that Australia has some serious race issues now. At least in America we voted a minority as president. Now there are still some issues here but to pretend like Australia doesn't have racism and the indegenous pop. is treated fairly is a fallacy. I lived there for 2 yrs. I saw it.

peter2o6 Says:

Nov 15, 2009 - I can make a serious credible argument that Australia cares more about its animals than it does about the indigenous people. I mean most species of animals have been preserved but only about 10% according to international records, remain. I could go one but you catch my drift.

gnarkillkicksass Says:

Nov 15, 2009 - The Cronulla Riots were a more locals vs immigrant gangs (two young female teenage volunteer surf lifesavers were beaten by a Lebanese gang on the beach cause it was "their turf", but your right unemployed bogans (you should know what that means then) took it as an excuse to form a mob but so did the gangs. Not saying Australia is perfect but its not what international media portray it as. Cronulla is ONE (1) suburb of Sydney which is ONE (1) city of Australia.

thankulord13 Says:

Nov 15, 2009 - As an African American, believe I am not buying this once incident is the only incident that this country has had. You said it was a gang thing, well that tells me that there are some inherent issues of race. Ask any gang member why they are in a gang and you will be told because they don't have the opportunities that others in society my have do to institutionalized discrimination. Believe I am sure those who are minorities in you nation would sing a different tune.

peter2o6 Says:

Nov 15, 2009 - How do you explain the evidence If you do not feel that way? Is it all just one big misunderstanding?

peter2o6 Says:

Nov 16, 2009 - Sure, shut the stable door when the horse has bolted. You shouldnt even be there bottom line.

peter2o6 Says:

Nov 16, 2009 - Good, then stop treating Indian students like shit.

tiBbLeX Says:

Nov 16, 2009 - You have no idea... none at all.... Come here and look for yourself, research how the government has been trying to help the aboriginals for decades. Because then you wouldn't have any credible evidence let alone argument. You have no idea....

assassin4than Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - "featured four men in black face behind a man in white face" *five blackfaced guys in the background jumping* cant count huh?

Ele4lyf1 Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - im australian and i have to sadly agree that australia is generaly a racist society. i hate to say it but its true. just the other day i saw 2 asian kids ( around 15 y/o) get attacked by this bogan dude who was around 40 because they were speaking vietnamese instead of english. it was on a bus and nobody did shit apart from this one guy and myself..... there was even a dude recording on his phone .... this wasn't the first incident iv seen like this and im sure it wont be the last

grody88 Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - The View is insensitive and offensive also: From wiki: The use of "Aborigine(s)" or "Aboriginal(s)" in this sense, i.e. as a noun, has acquired negative, even derogatory connotations in some sectors of the community, who regard it as insensitive, and even offensive.[10] The more acceptable and correct expression is "Aboriginal Australians" or "Aboriginal people," ... "Indigenous Australians" has found increasing acceptance, particularly since the 1980s.[11]

Ebroglio2 Says:

Nov 19, 2009 - are you aware the word "bogan" originated from a western NSW indigenous dialect where "bogan" means elder or tribe leader?

foathkent Says:

Nov 19, 2009 - lol what a load of fucking bullshit. i dont see the problem

Daredevil3214 Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - I can't do anything other than laugh at how big they have made this out of nothing. For starters a white person putting on black make-up makes them racist? Based on that it is fair to say a guy wearing make up means the guy is sexist. We Australians can take the piss out of ourselves. They in no way mocked a race so how is it racist? They may have mocked the Jackson five but making fun of people who are black doesn't make them a racist unless they were making fun of them due to their race.

celondelon Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - I have to say I did experience a fair old amount of racism in Australia, i was amazed at the terms being used on TV and radio by commentators to describe the Pakistani cricket team it was shocking. That said Melbourne was wonderful i met a lot of open minded people there. Its not that the racism was less so than anywhere else it was the fact that is was so openly accepted as a normal way to behave. As for indigenous Australians they were there first, the term Aboriginal is racist and offensive.

giingerbreadman Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - No-one belive these clueless Americans, its true Australia has a completely different sense of humour than americans, and Australia is not racist at all, Australia is one of the most multi-cultural nations on Earth...ive lived here my whole life and its not as bad as what these stupid americans make it out to be, listen to them they don't even know what there talking about when there discussing Australia Aboriginals they don't know shit.

lintfilter Says:

Nov 24, 2009 - im australian... hey hey its saturday is for the lowest common denominator. no australian with any intelligence or real sense of humour watches that show, to say its our sense of humour is insulting, that show died years ago and should have stayed that way

robbeas Says:

Nov 24, 2009 - Thankgod Whoopi is the one to see it from a non-american perspective. In Australia, we got over the fact people with different colour skin existed about 50 years ago! Before the sketch, the vast majority of us didnt know what 'black face' was. Quite simply because we don't have to deal with it. And for such claims from Americans on Aboriginals, again need a tad more education on the issue beyond movies... that were made by american of course... Your problems don't extend here.

Logicbeatslies Says:

Nov 24, 2009 - Don't tell the bogans that! They already think they're king shit.
