Nov 7, 2009 - If you are happy with an item and willing to pay a certain price for how can you have been ripped off? Did you rip yourself off? Demand dictates price, you obviously wanted it bad enough to pay said price, my dad wouldn't pay that, but he's not into video games, get my point? Now go play Neo-Geo............

Nov 11, 2009 - Funny! I bought my Neo Geo for $230 dollars with art of fighting 2 and sticks exact same combo from a guy who "just had no room" :) How can you "Just not have room" for a Neo Geo? He wanted 250, I got him down 20 bucks it was complete with it's box and sticks plus the same game! I had to weep a little too because I had wanted one my entire life!!! Few purchases will ever be able to top that one on my list. Do I use it? Yes, but with extreme kid gloves and not often. I LOVE IT!!! Great video!!!
WCWite Says:
Nov 15, 2009 - So the Neo - Geo is basically 24 bit?
czeimszky Says:
Nov 16, 2009 - @WCWite not really. there is a hybrid of an 16bit and an 8bit processor

Nov 21, 2009 - Neo-Geo.What a great system. But the cartidges were even greater in price,so actually going to spend a few(or not so few) quarters in the arcades was all we could afford.
getpagesize Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - The single greatest thing about the Neo Geo was as follows: When released it was pretty much unreachable for most, but it was something to strive after and dream about. Neo Geo was like Ferrari and Lamborghini is to cars, or what Alpha and Sun were to the computer enthusiasts. Today there is nothing like it, a really fast PC just dominates, there is nothing special about a PC since everyone has one, a fast one is neat, but no matter how fast a normal x86 will never be EXOTIC like the Neo Geo.
videogameobsession Says:
Nov 22, 2009 - nah...it was just marketing hype. it uses a motorola 68000 cpu (as does the sega genesis). it did have another graphics co-processor (z80) 8bit. they added thoe together to make up their ''24 bit'' total ;) what a great system.
videogameobsession Says:
Nov 22, 2009 - i just think if snk had given you a few seconds of invincibility after getting hit in magician lord it would have been better received. i always wondered why snk never produced an ikari warriors for the neo...

Nov 24, 2009 - Very well said. I first saw the AES being given away as a competition prize in Bad Influence magazine when I was about 10 and was totally blown away. During the bit/meg wars, the spec of such a machine was truly mind-boggling. It was this unattainable, secret console for a select group of people who really, REALLY loved videogames...and I finally bought one today for £50! Can't freaking wait to get my Haohmaru on, it's been a long time buddy...
getpagesize Says:
Nov 24, 2009 - Yeah, and there is way more that is neat about it too, just something as seemingly trivial as the cartridges -- the cartridges are HUGE, and they are not just filled with void plastic like e.g. the NES cartridges ... oh no, the Neo Geo cartridges are literally STUFFED with electronics, two PCBs both full of ROMs, and they are heavy. You really get the feeling that this was pushing the envelope and that you are holding something expensive; the $250-300 price tag per game was well justified.
