Oct 15, 2009 - Thats a good point. American drywall is much thicker then here in the UK. In Europe most drywall is only 9mm thick and sometimes 12.5 mm thick but backed with stronger base. In the US drywall is normally a minimum of 0.5 inches but backed with weaker base. I've used these in my drywall and when I tried to hang a shelf with stuff on it (about 75 lbs/ 35 kg) I could already hear my drywall starting a give in! Its important that these nails are spread out and not to close together.
