GuamKomudo Says:

Sep 9, 2009 - Not to be a smart ass... But life kinda does revolve around the english language... Notice every country in the world has made it mandatory to learn it... Its cool though, I had to learn it =) I think the world should make like a SUPER easy language, and make that "common" language, that way, everyone can easily talk to everyone =) Not to far down the road... Were all probly gonna have to learn Chinese... Over 5000 characters just for basic reading... Not to mention pronounciation... omg

Sep 10, 2009 - The language is called Esperanza it's never really caught on but it is the 'super easy language' that could be used but only 1 million people speak it. No not everyone should learn English, I had not choice as it's my first language but it's a lingua franca nothing more. No, not every country has it as mandatory to learn. Unfortunately people believe that it's important to learn it, losing their own language and culture. It's sad, as we (English native speakers) try to learn other languages.

HyaenusDominae Says:

Sep 11, 2009 - All good points, but I thought this language was called Castilian, Castillano being the Castilian word.

GuamKomudo Says:

Sep 11, 2009 - English is mandatory all over Europe, Asia, Africa. All the schools teach ESL, english as a second language. Sense the US is the leading world power, all the countries learn english. if a Mexican business man is doing business in Germany with German guys, they speak english. Its just how it is, its the "Universal Language" of this time. Its not rude or ignorant, its true. Most people in the world can speak english to some extent, or they cant do business or other jobs.

sea2beefree Says:

Sep 12, 2009 - Yes, it is. I was simply stating that Esperanza (which is notably another language) is the 'common language' which could be used in replacement to English. Obviously this song is in Castellano.

sea2beefree Says:

Sep 12, 2009 - No it is not mandatory in India students may choose which school they attend. Whether it is a medium in the regional language, hindi or English. It is not mandatory to learn English. In North Korea, English is not compulsary. In Africa many of the former French colonies do not teach English. Moreover English is not universal as many second language speakers cannot understand dialects of English. The grammar in Scottish English is different as you may say 'I washing' rather than 'I am washing.'

GuamKomudo Says:

Sep 12, 2009 - Great... I didnt ask for a smart ass techniacal answer lol You can prettend its not true all you want. MOST countries in the world or at least most of the population of thoughs countries can speak english to some point, esspecially the younger people. And the Scottish thing... Thats kinda stupid seeing as we can understand every word they say lol If I was talking to a Scott, I wouldent need a translator,I could hang out playing video games or w/e with a Scott all day, wouldent knwo the diff =)

sea2beefree Says:

Sep 14, 2009 - Hahahaha, That is true. However I suggest you spend some time listening to some Welsh people speaking. You may need to a translator then. That isn't to say something offense about the Welsh just it's ridiculously difficult to understand if you speak a possible variant of RP. English is spoken widely spoken but as widely spoken as it may seem. But yeah, I am being smart. ;-)
