Nov 16, 2009 - You cant sit there and tell me that Nirvana wasnt an influential band because they didnt do so great on the charts. the fuckin jonas brothers can do so well but there still not gonna get me to jump out my chair and dance like a son of a bitch like i do to nirvana!
Corvyn Says:
Nov 16, 2009 - You suffer from selective reading, where by you only extract information pertinent to your own arguments rather than reading the article as a whole. "Nevermind was selling approximately 300,000 copies a week." It went platinum in a month. :/
NeaonBHB Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - lol wut?
NeaonBHB Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - LOL! You have no clue at all. Go ahead, pull up the Billboard top 40 for that time period and find 6 different Nirvana songs on it. Seriously, go ahead. As for popularizing alternative music.. yeah. It was JUST nirvana. I'm sure Pearl Jam, STP, Soundgarden etc had NOTHING to do with it.
NeaonBHB Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - LOL So did Vanilla Ice, what's your point?
inserenity75 Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - Nirvana knocked Micheal Jackson out of number one with Nevermind
ponto3 Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - thats what weve been trying to tell this douche but he prefers to stick with his top 40.. were not trying to say nirvana was the only one to make alt and grunge popular.. a large contributor tho.
asir1234567 Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - yes i get you nirvana sucks everybody in the world should know they are not great they are one hit losers kurt cobain was depprese fag that wanted attention yes i get your point every song nirvana made sucked ass because it didnt hit the Billboard where we that to be amazing you need to on it and now see great artists such as the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus on it yes i get your point 100% SO EVERYBODY ON THIS YOUTUBE PAGE LISTEN TO NeaonBHB BECAUSE HE IS 100% RIGHT IN WHAT HE SAYS
Corvyn Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - Vanilla Ice didn't off himself, although he probably should have, and that was your original argument, that Nirvana was only popular after Kurt's death, which simply is not true. That's my point.
kurtcrowbain Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - the vocals just don't sound right on this DVD. they're boxed in with a studio room reverb. they sounded better on the bootlegs with big echo delay
NeaonBHB Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - I never said that Nirvana was only popular after Kurt's death, if you learn how to read. I said their popularity and perceived influence skyrocketed after his death (i.e. overrated). Those are two separate concepts (take a reading class!)
Corvyn Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - Not everyone means what you do when they say overrated. I thought you meant Nirvana was not as good a band as they actually were, not that people give them more credit for being influential then they deserve. That might actually be true. As you said alt-rocks rise in popularity had as much to do with PJ, STP, Radiohead etc. However, I guarantee Nirvana, Sublime, Blind Melon and many other bands would have successfully earned the popularity they received had they gotten more of a chance.
camotero1 Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - WOW. What an ass-kicking song. It's nice to hear Cobain's grungy lead on this--very sparse in notes but powerful. Grohl (sp?) plays a mean f%#ing drum! To think that he was "just" a drummer with Nirvana, compared to the success he's had as a frontman, says volumes about Kurt Cobain and his songwriting.
DanHogan145 Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - Did I say it was was just Nirvana? Why don't YOU read you stupid troll. Nirvana was the first MAJOR chart-topping alt band therefore they are given the title of popularizing alternative music. Soundgarden and Pearl Jam helped out...Although Soundgarden is more of just a weird metal band than grunge/alt.
Drewski6410 Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - i think bleach is better than nevermind. im the biggest nirvana fan ever and smells like teen spirit is my least favorite nirvana song
GrUnGeFoReVeR4594 Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - I agree with you, Nevermind had a few decent songs, but Bleach was perfect. And Smells like Teen Spirit sucks. I'd say School, or You Know You're Right are their best.
kcobainrock Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - i played this at my school in SA the teachers complained because it was too noisy haha there was a shit load of feedback
evilball1992 Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - I agree, Bleach was an amazing album, and definitely underrated. However, I wouldn't say that Smells Like Teen Spirit sucks. It's just not their best song.
Drewski6410 Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - haha those are actually my 2 favorite songs too
realgez20 Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - I agree, theres probably to much production with this, on the plus side the bass sounds top
samsharpeye Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - Christ he could play drums
NeaonBHB Says:
Nov 22, 2009 - Ten - released August 27th 1991 Nevermind - released September 24th 1991 Oh dammmn LOL owned hahaha man keep talkin please it is sooooo funny
RexDeRoss Says:
Nov 22, 2009 - Lol Which sold better on initial release? Nevermind. Ten sales started out slow then rose after Nevermind came out and when the grunge era started to take hold. Hmmm....Ten became popular after Nirvana's breakaway success...I think any further arguing on the topic will just solidify Dan's arguement. Regardless Ten did in fact sell better than Nevermind and eclipsed its sales in 1993. Both are great albums. Go back under your bridge please Mr. Troll.
Hellagoodedie Says:
Nov 23, 2009 - without nevermind we wouldnt have even been broken into grunge (yet) haha who knows ten might not have even gotten big at all without nirvana. good points rex

DanHogan145 Says:
Nov 16, 2009 - Hahaha! Just checked his account and apparently he is a huge "Diddy" fan. It is obvious you don't like Nirvana, so why not do something better with yourself instead of trolling the comment sections of their videos.
