Sep 15, 2009 - They do have that same . . . stargate element, it's called a Stargate. If you're talking about the interactions of the characters and the feel of the give and take between actors, fo course it's not the same, they added two new characters (and some characters left). Adding new elements to any show will change it. I agree that seasons 3 and 4 are different from 9 and 10. They're supposed to be. That's what it means to have a great TV show: it constantly changes and evolves.

Sep 15, 2009 - yeh but theres a general feel of adventure and excitement in the earlier seasons. And then it just eventually became banter.
thesiteofcia Says:
Sep 15, 2009 - How are the last two seasons not exciting? The first three episodes of the ninth season were all about the team running around getting into trouble, and that was just the beginning. And yes, there was added banter, but that's an improvement over previous SG-1 seasons where the only witty banter was O'Neill making some smart*** remark (which, by the way I loved, don't get me wrong). But the last two seasons had much more witty back and forth, but not, I believe, for the lack of action.

Sep 15, 2009 - I didn't say they weren't!! Although, whilst on that topic, season 9 was mostly just priors rabbiting on lol. Fair enough, season 9 and 10 had good moments, but in my own opinion, the ori were far less exciting, whereas the Goa'uld were just truly kickass. And replicators were friggin awesome too. And that's really what i missed. But oh well...
thesiteofcia Says:
Sep 15, 2009 - Ah. I actually saw the Ori as much scarier than the Replicators or Goa'uld. I mean, while it did seem impossible to defeat either of them in the long term, SG-1 quite often kicked their butts in the short-term. As for the Ori, though (and here I'm thinking especially of the Priors), every time SG-1 went up against them, it seemed as though they only survived because the Ori let them, not because they truly kicked butt and earned it.
MrCommentz Says:
Sep 15, 2009 - mm yeh but you have to remember that they are the good side, and for some reason in the end of everything, the good always wins, so SG1 was always bound to victory.
thesiteofcia Says:
Sep 15, 2009 - Yes, but that's my point. In the case of the Ori, you didn't get the feeling that the good won because they were good and had to. Instead, you got the feeling that they "won" (if you can call it that in some cases) because the Ori just didn't see them as a big enough threat to squash them immediately. I didn't see that old attitude of the good guys winning just because until a good while in the series, after they'd created the thing that blocks the Prior's powers.

Sep 27, 2009 - I'm sad that it had to go, but on the other hand, I'm happy it ended before it got to the point where it was beating the dead horse and got stale.

Oct 11, 2009 - i'm going to be perfectly honest i didn't start watching stargate until a few months ago...i no it ended two years ago but my sister got me into it just this year i never thought i would like a syfy show but this is a show that im completely hocked on and cant stop watching i wish there was more episodes coming and it does suck that it got cancelled cause it is the the best show ever...STARGARE 4EVER!
OozeOfOldOaks Says:
Oct 19, 2009 - I thought that the ori was scarier, they could easily beat the crap out of sg-1 anytime, it's just as if the ori is sparring them. Not like the goa'uld who just got tricked time after time.

ZakaClark Says:
Oct 31, 2009 - I'm sad too that they ended it but I was even more sad when I saw that there will be no Jack O'Neill in the 9th and 10th season. without him it all seemed pointless, I saw how the producers desperately tried to be funny but it wasn't the same... and you're right about cutting it early enough, so they don't ruin it. though... for me it was kinda almost ruined by making the last two seasons without richard

joeaglr Says:
Nov 3, 2009 - Yup Zaka Clark is right without Richard the show was less funny I know it wasnt about comedy but he really made Stargate a Great Show and with him in the 9th and 10th season it would have been alot better!

Nov 20, 2009 - who was that genius who wanted to cancel the stargate sg1???? i f*cking hate him

MrCommentz Says:
Sep 15, 2009 - huh? stfu cos i do. I'm a huge SG1 fan and i disagree. And most people actually don't like change. I won't deny that seasons 9 10 still had good moments, but if you watch an episode in seasons 9 or 10, then watch an episode in like season 3 or 4, you can see that seasons 9 10 didn't have the same.....stargate element.
