Nov 6, 2009 - They had F-15'S AND f-16's back then! Unless this is set before 1986 which would be fair but the f-15 and 16 became in use around the mid and late 70's

Nov 6, 2009 - F-14s are cumbersome, but powerful, the thrust from those twin engines had it pullin some serious manuevers
Talcy0n Says:
Nov 6, 2009 - Its an F14B that Pete Mitchell was flying.
Sup3rF1uid Says:
Nov 6, 2009 - What are you talking about man? The F-14 was an amazing aircraft, any aeronautical engineer could tell you that. The F-14 was far more manoeuvrable than the old F-4's and played a major role in reshaping the USN's strategic role. It is the only aircraft capable of engaging and destroying 6 bogeys simultaneously with an 80% kill rate. Sure, it isn't negative stability like the F-16, but that's because it wasn't designed that way. As a multi-role carrier borne fighter, its one damn good plane.

Nov 8, 2009 - Top Gun is a real school for teaching dog fighting to Navy fighter pilots. The Navy did not/does not fly the F15 or F16. Those are USAF jets. The Navy must pass on any jet that cannot withstand the intense pressures of taking off from and landing on an aircraft carrier... it's why they passed on the F22 Raptor. The F15 and F16 are not equipped to land on a carrier. Besides, the Tomcat is a bad mother... it was a pleasure to work with them before their retirement.

Nov 9, 2009 - Not true. The Naval Strike and Air Warfare Centre (which replaced NFWS 'Top Gun' in 1996) uses F-16s and F-5s as aggressor aircraft for dissimilar ACM training. They are based in NAS Fallon, Nevada. They obviously do not deploy to sea.

Nov 9, 2009 - Dear All, I have some questions about psychology: (1) Why do we enjoy flying an aeroplane? (2) What does flying and aviation mean to females? (3) Why do girls want to fly high and become a pilot? (eg. express her talent) (4) Through flying, what have female pilots proved and demonstrated to the world? or, What kind of social value(s) have female pilots brought up? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

Nov 19, 2009 - 11-19-2009. Happy Birthday, Meg. I will join you in July (at 48). This is the first movie that I saw you in and your role as Carol Bradshaw will always be remembered, especially after Goose's death. Even though Carol was torn up and faced the reality of raising their son alone, she didn't blame Maverick. The 3 knew the risks involved. Mav had the same thing happen to him with his father. I look forward to seeing your other projects. Many happy returns, "Mrs. Goose." Heh-heh. Later, Meg.
