Jul 20, 2009 - It's the "mama" part that gets me....like a little boy calling out for his mommy to help him :-(

vegasbychoice Says:

Aug 20, 2009 - I saw 1776 at Radio City Music Hall when it came out in the early 70s. I hadn't seen it again until today but this beautiful and sad song and scene stayed with me for over 30 years.

Sep 19, 2009 - I don't think his voice is anything special, and I can't stand this musical, but it is an awesome song.

Oct 6, 2009 - his voice i must say is a bit airy but still gorgeous i absolutely love this song used this musical 4 a music assessment :)

Basssinger86 Says:

Oct 6, 2009 - From 4:03 to 4:30 is perhaps the best part of the song IMO. Wow, it looks amazing and of course the song is very powerful.

Melensko Says:

Oct 8, 2009 - i forget... doesnt the boy have a bit of mental dissability... the song is just as riveting either way...

TombaFanatic Says:

Oct 11, 2009 - I don't think they ever mentioned it, he's a rather minor character.

Melensko Says:

Oct 11, 2009 - and funny how he gets one of the most powerful songs in the musical... even with being such a minor chracter

TombaFanatic Says:

Oct 11, 2009 - He played an important part, but he was just a messenger until this scene. Then after it he returned to the role of nothing but messenger.

Tizzarockerosis Says:

Oct 18, 2009 - It is true, his voice is a little airy, but he delivers the song so perfectly, I wouldn't have it any other way. Sad thing he was a minor character because he did really good for this being his only spot light. I don't think it's funny at all. It's my favorite song from the whole musical! Any boy/man could relate to this song. I wouldn't laugh at it if I were a male. 3:48 got me. I didn't cry though. It was considerably intriguing when they harmonized at 4:18 :] love it.

Tizzarockerosis Says:

Oct 18, 2009 - Hehe, I agree! He's adorable :]

Maxinerx21 Says:

riadraco Says:

Nov 1, 2009 - true but i mean you cant have any on the congressmen sing a song like this and they had to show that not everything was purely diplomatic... he had been bringing the dispatches which gave details of the war but no real emotion to it through the reading of it, now he brought the news of the war first hand

JonathanSmith2 Says:

Nov 7, 2009 - I'm the Courier for our community theatre show this weekend. It's going really well. I made one of my friends cry from this song.
