Oct 19, 2009 - The special tool used to pry his finger free is NOT a knife. It's a steel knife sharpener.

Oct 20, 2009 - Turtle can has finger. These things aren't rare where I fish, I caught 2 of them in the same day, and they weren't the same ones. The first one was much bigger, and they were both heavy as hell. Needless to say, they got about 100 feet of free fishing line.

Delticola Says:

Nov 10, 2009 - @GnarPaddler Actually he got bit because that turtle individually was a little faster and smarter the the average turtle of that species. Notice the bite happened after the release, not before and not during the holding by the head.............either way, it's still not the best way to remove them from the nets, there are better ways.......developed after this incident.

jethromayham Says:

Nov 21, 2009 - I bet he learned his lesson. But sometimes it has to happen before he shows more respect. I had a pet turtle bite me but it was a small one and it still hurt a little. The turtle can turn its head easily and catch you because hard to hold turtle by the end part only.

stringanime Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - If alien invades snagged me in a net, and I bit or stabbed them, but they didn't dissinegrate my brains for doing so, I'd be happy.
