Sep 18, 2009 - Wow, that was very well done, but you missed the point of how people can not only learn "facts" or "history," but also learn concepts of being a good person, or a good citizen from videogames as well. Teaching worldly concepts through a game is easy too, and most of it would even be in a well written plot. Good job though, you spoke out something that had been buried in my head for years.

Oct 8, 2009 - Two words: Assassin's Creed. I've never been a conspiracy theorist, but no topic has flooded on to my bookshelf as fast as the Templars and their buddies the Freemasons. Religion, history, and science all colided for one of my favorite games. (And though it's not actually a video game, Doctor Who always comes up in these kinds of discussions, so I mention it.)

Oct 14, 2009 - Great video! Broken Sword strikes me as a game that made me want to look into a lot of historical stuff, knights of the templars, Tezcatlipoca of the Aztecs, they based their whole games on historical references! I really like the premise of tangential learning :)

Oct 16, 2009 - yeah , I'm pretty sure Einstein used a lot of tangential learning ... not come on , this is stupid , if I want to learn something I use a book !!!

Oct 19, 2009 - I actually looked up what the actually sephiroth meant in the middle of the lecture. The currently developed Dante's Inferno and Halo 3 ODST Inferno references motivated me to read the actual book. Now that's tangential learning!
