Sep 26, 2009 - according to an interview with Lee Unkrich, one day they were talking and up popped the idea that they wanted to bring a monkey to Pixar, just for fun. after a few phone calls and what not, they had a chimp in the building during behind the scenes shooting. Lee Unrich said part of the joke is they would never explain it on the special features, just keep people wondering. :)
