Sep 6, 2009 - Cool video, informative and fascinating. The Greek community of Sinaloa, Mexico is another example. They came there as fishermen in the turn of the 20th century. Local Sinaloan food is like part Greek part Mexican. A side of kalamari, olives grape leaves mixed in the salsa, arroz y frijoles. You should mention there are Greeks in New Zealand, parts of eastern Asia and the Persian gulf (Dubai, UAE). Greek people contribute to civilization like any other people (i.e. USA) in world history. +

Sep 6, 2009 - Not only Persians/Iranians are partial descendants of the Greeks, you can include the Arabs, Armenians, Turks and most of the world's Jews on the list. The Greeks were mentors to the Romans in development of the Roman empire, the alphabet we're using to type messages on here is from Greek...and same goes to the Cyrillic alphabet used in Russia, Bulgaria Serbia. The Greeks were the first European travelers south of the Sahara or Sudan, and east of the Ganges river in the first millenia BC. +

Oct 14, 2009 - The only proof we know exist today of the battle of Thermopyle is Herotodos. One problem! He didnt live during the war. Instead he asked "war veterans" about the war. Once again, One Problem. How do we now that they told the truth? During this period of time the Greeks were very etnocentric, they called non-greeks for barbarians and they would never embrace another culture.
sorrypapawxz Says:
Oct 14, 2009 - Another problem with Herotodos is that he was told to be a typical greek with typical greek views of the world. Also, he have written many stange and un-logical things. He have written about gigantic ants and sand that turns to gold in Kashmir. Many scientist today deny Herotodos as a "serious" historical source. He many times wrote crazy stories to get many readers.
sorrypapawxz Says:
Oct 14, 2009 - I don't know why people believe in Herotodos story about 300 spartans VS 1 milion persians. Because according to Herodotos there were 1 milion persian. First of all, there is no archelogical proof that the battle even existed. Second of all. How could Xerxes bring 1 milion soldiers through the desert? Napolean could not even bring thousends of soldiers to russia 2000 years later.

Nov 7, 2009 - Herodotos was called The father of the History, because he was just the Best. He created 9 books of History. His History was always based on evidences and never on lies.Α Roman minister Gave him this name : Father of the History( Πατέρας της Ιστορίας)
sorrypapawxz Says:
Nov 7, 2009 - Persian scientist Avicenna is called father of medicin.. That dosnt mean he is the greatest or that he is someone special. He is called father of medicin because they say he was the "first" one to write books about medicin "Qannon of medicin".
sorrypapawxz Says:
Nov 7, 2009 - Sometimes Hipocrates is refered as "father of medicin". But its mainly western people who say this, not surprising.
