May 28, 2009 - That's no good at all.

May 28, 2009 - I finally got a reply from him. He apologized and fixed my problem. It's really annoying having to wait so long, but I don't think he was trying to cheat me. Just don't expect quick service when you order.

nadyelnoc Says:

May 29, 2009 - I ordered a spyderco UKPK a couple of months ago from them. It came in less than a week which is pretty quick considering I'm stationed in the UK and it had to go through my APO first. I'm waiting for a super commander now. I ordered it on the 25th. That being memorial day, I'll say the 26th. We'll see how it goes this time.

May 31, 2009 - Primarily slash cutting. Sabre like shape is built for that.

Jun 3, 2009 - I ordered two knives from yourcornerstore I got them a month later, and I even upgraded shiping

Bohica173 Says:

Jun 8, 2009 - I've had a few issues with this knife straight out of the box. The blade is pretty difficult to flick out, and when flicked out firmly, the liner lock locks up very tightly and is very difficult to disengage. I was wondering if some lubrication is required. Has anyone else experienced these problems?

sixteen34 Says:

Jun 23, 2009 - I've had a similar issue with my CQC-8BT. When i tighten the blade screw the knife is very stiff opening but locks fairly solid. If i loosen up the screw the knife comes open easier but there is more play in the blade movement open-closed so i carry and use the knife screwed just tight enough that the wave feature opens the knife with some effort. it's important for your knife to lock up tight! if you think your knife is not right send it back to emerson, they have a great lifetime warranty.

Bohica173 Says:

Jun 29, 2009 - I asked around on another forum, and apparently this isn't unheard of with Emersons, so what I've done is tighten the blade tension just enough to eliminate the blade play, and just work on breaking the knife in and practicing drawing it out. Thanks for the input.

Jul 2, 2009 - my cqc7 mini had a similar issue with the liner lock being too stiff but after a little use with no adjustments or modifications the problem went away

familyphotoshoot Says:

Jul 4, 2009 - Most Emersons have a break-in period. If you carry and use it regularly you will find that in two or three weeks it should smooth out quite a bit. Or you could just sit in front of the TV opening and closing it for a couple of hours for a couple nights.

MrCQB Says:

Jul 7, 2009 - the only down side, in my opinion, of an emerson blade is the PRICE!!!!!!!!

jonconsiglio Says:

Jul 14, 2009 - The CQC-8 still comes how you got yours... They call it a standard V-Grind, but they're referring to the blade grind, not the edge grind. The edge grind is a chisel grind - ground on one side, then the other side just has the burr knocked off basically. The Emerson CQC-7 is a true Chisel Grind where only one side of the blade is ground and the other side is completely flat, so it lays flat against a table. Still a great knife and easily fixed. Love your reviews! Jonathan

jonconsiglio Says:

Jul 14, 2009 - sixteen34 Bohica173 The stiffness and lockup is exactly how you want them to come. All of my Emersons and Striders are/have been like this. Don't do anything to it until you've opened and closed it a few hundred times or more to break it in.....kind of like a nice 1911. Don't lube or do anything until it's completely broken in, then correct if there's still a problem. Check the forums about this and Strider (I know we're talking Emerson) has info on this in their FAQ. Jonathan

Oct 6, 2009 - yeah i know, even cheapy chinesy liner locks wont fail without HUMAN ERROR. thats all. u shouldnt be using a knife in a way that it folds u know? locks are just there for peace of mind

iRaptor59 Says:

Oct 27, 2009 - In SA, TX, a knife that sits low in the pocket is concealed carry, depending on the officer. I like the butt of the knife to protrude so I can grab it, and it is easily visible. The cops down here can be unfair at times; jail is no fun. I use a knife as a tool. I began when I was 5 years old, in Oregon. I have never used a knife as a weapon. Down in Texas, with all the gangs and trouble, a knife is always a weapon, never a tool. As a RN, more into saving than hurting. I wish that counted.
