Nov 16, 2009 - Personally I think it was a great call, it caused a sense of desperation for the president.

Nov 16, 2009 - We are fighting for our right to live.
ericdbz Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - oh sorry supersoaker, as I recall the last time your country (Poland) fought for its independence was in WW II. Yea know, that whole thing where America fought to liberate Europe. By you're right Americans don't know anything about independence, we only gave it to you and just about everyone else on that continent.
1supersoaker Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - you gave independence to Poland? when? how? hehehehe:)))) and to the World???? that is very interesting:)) for free, ofcourse :)))))

Nov 17, 2009 - shivers down my spine
ericdbz Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - are you suggesting that Poland didn't need any help from America fighting the nazis? That you could just turn the tide of the war all by your selfs? And by the way, its a little arrogant of you to think that Europe is the entire "world". but you're right. Before America came into WWII we made every one pay $10/a head.
Leprechaunproduction Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - Easily the best speech I've ever seen in any film. I was only 10 when I first saw this, and not only did it give me goosebumps, but I loved what the speech was about...putting aside our differences as a species and coming together to fight a common enemy. It's a timeless message, which makes this speech all the more powerful. Even now, years later, I still love it.

Nov 18, 2009 - Look this up, nigger: "Turkey had officially forbidden any Coalition troops from using their bases or airspace, so lead elements of the 10th SFG had to make a detour infiltration; their flight was supposed to take four hours but instead took ten. Hours after the first of such flights, Turkey did allow the use of its air space and the rest of the 10th SFG infiltrated in"
TheDMarl Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - Uhhh..maybe you should read a history book sometime, Poland was liberated by the Soviets, not by American forces.
taxmonkey123 Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - People didn't kill eachother 200,000 years ago? Yeah right. In fact, the percent of humans deaths stemming from violence was the lowest in the 20th than in any previous century in our existence.

Nov 18, 2009 - WHITE POWER
ericdbz Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - I'm pretty sure the Soviets weren't fairing to well before America came into the picture. In fact some would they were getting pwned. Without America's help there would have been no Liberation at all. Besides its off point. Soaker says America knows nothing about independence. I'm saying America has fought for "independence" on many occasions.
serge809 Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - great, taint this with racism and ignorance. this is an awesome movie scene. stop ruining it.
TheDMarl Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - The defeat of the Germans at Stalingrad is widely considered by many military historians to have been the turning point of the war. Added to that, until D-Day, approximately 75% of Germany's forces were fighting on the Eastern Front, although after D-Day, that number was closer to 66%, which is still an impressive number. You can argue that America supplied the Soviets with vehicles and munitions, but to claim that Russia was getting 'pwned' until America entered the war is a bit silly.
usonly101 Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - Actually it was the Russian winter that turned the tide of battle in favor of the Soviets. The Germans were ill prepared for such a cold winter and the Soviets gained enough time and momentum to launch a counter attack.
TimePeriod Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - Well Russia 'was' getting pwned by the Germans in the beginning of operation Barbarossa but simply due to the vast stretches of countryside the German had to cross it allowed the Russians to regroup, rearm and gain a foothold. With the armaments and munitions from various nations the Russians was able to turn the tide but it came with a hefty cost. Some say more Russians was shot by other Russians then Germans.
TimePeriod Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - But how did the Russians win in the east? Production, that was the name of the game. They simply 'out-produced' the Germans. Better tactics, training and air-ground coordination helped a lot as well. Ultimately it was the weather that sealed the deal, the Germans just did not have the experiance, equipment and training to fight in the winter cold. Plus, come on - they are friggen Russians anyone dumb enough to attack em deserves to louse.
mistaunbeatabl Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - this is the most inspirational movie speech of all time.
