May 29, 2009 - oh u dont know any history. solun was turkish and cyrillic name. its real name was thessaloniki after cassanders(who built the city after alexandros death) wife thessalonike(means "victory over thessalians) there are ancient writings in statues tumbs with this name. its greek so does macedonia, alexander, phillip, archelaus and so many others. all of them mean something and i bet u didnt even knew it. to much talk for a guy who doesnt even know macedonian history. just a friendly correction

We are more similar to Serbs, but that doesn't mean we are serbs either. WE are a mix of many different peoples. We call ourselves macedonians because that is the historical name of our region. Its in the historical maps if you don't beleive me. Plus we lived in the region for centuries. We also share the greek arthodox religion.
