Jul 27, 2009 - You are most welcome. Thanks for watching.

subroto81 Says:

Jul 29, 2009 - Two things. FIrstly hinduism is a set of doctrines, values and principles...if you follow them u are a hindu if not you are not, REGARDLESS of which family u are born in or what religion your parents were. If u do not follow any of hinduism's principles then u are not a hindu simple as that even if your family is brahmin . Many brahmins eat meat does that mean they are brahmins NO. Your qualifications is what makes u who u are NOT your affiliations or family tree.

subroto81 Says:

Jul 29, 2009 - Krishna warned us against this kali yuga hindus do not know much about hinduism. Hinduism is not a sect..it is a set of values and principles u have to follow; simple as that. For example.. brahmins are supposed to be judged by thier qualifications alone and nothing else...not family tree or what kind of sacred thread they wear. I can wear a lawyers uniform or my dad can be a lawyer, but will that make me a lawyer automatically?? NO. I have to first get the qualifications, the same with hindus

meha1612 Says:

Jul 30, 2009 - Radhey Radhey, subroto81 I do agree with your logic. Hindus are those who follow the doctrines of hinduism. However, if you don't follow the caste system but still follow the broad hindu doctrines you are still a hindu. I am a 'kshatreya' but I perform the duties of a 'Brahman' (education). Does that make me an unreal hindu? 'NO' And if you mean that 90% of the hindus are like me then I would NOT LIKE myself to be called an unreal hindu. I'm proud of my religion and its doctrines.

meha1612 Says:

Jul 30, 2009 - So, am I a hindu? YES. Do I belong to a caste? YES. Does my family name match my practicing profession? NO. You are mixing the religion, 'Hinduism' and the society created 'caste system.' Those who don't practice the profession of their family based on the caste sytem are still hindus AND I believe they are devote hindus. No adulteration :)

subroto81 Says:

Jul 30, 2009 - No, but if u follow the duties of a brahmin then u are a brahmin. It is your duties and actions that define you, not your family affiliations. A brahmin for eg. does not eat meat...so if u don't eat meat u automatically fulfill one of the neccesary qualifications to be a brahmin. ?However there are many brahmins that eat meat and still consider themselves brahmins just because their family is brahmins. This type of caste system is a new kali yuga developement. That is what i was talking about.

carrad123456 Says:

Aug 9, 2009 - hi subroto81, there is no text in Hinduism which says dont consume meat. Brahmins were supposed to maintain "no meating eating" for better education and maintaining piousness. to read vedas we need to leave meat, I have heard this from many Hindu priests/gurus but I am not sure about it as i dont know there is any reference.

carrad123456 Says:

Aug 9, 2009 - cow is like mother and noone can kill his/her mother for hunger. and that is logic behind not eating beef. in fact what all oxytoxcin injections we give to Cow even that is sin and we all will pay for it one day. i know many Hindus do eat beef and still call themselves Hindus. I cant say what to tell them. but other meat forms are allowed in hinduism though it is advised to not eat. it depends on human preferences and places we belong to.

carrad123456 Says:

Aug 9, 2009 - like in Bengal fish is like a vegetable because it is easily available. but ya if someone calls themselves Brahmins"doing anything with religious reading(as education is same for all now) then they should leave it. though i wrote it but there is one more aspect of "Sanatan Dharma" that is Shaivism and in Shaivism one sect prays Bhairav and believes in meat offering in eating.

Oct 28, 2009 - The spiritual journey is a long road that starts with controlling senses. If some one has controlled their sense of taste so that they dont hurt other living beings for it they are still a step ahead in this journey to those who are ahead in killing to eat. This spiritual journey continues towards controlling anger, hatred, temptation etc
