Oct 23, 2009 - yep, he was, I don't know who would be now, but back in the 60s he changed the way the instrument was played. it went from being not important and filler and "the guy stays quiet in the background doing dumdum just in the root of the chord", to be the main instrument with rich melodies and changes and guy is as important for the bands as the lead guitarist.

Nov 2, 2009 - Jimi Hendrix and David Gilmour are the two greatest guitarists of all time IMHO. I call Jimi Hendrix the God of the Fender Stratocaster and David Gilmour the Jesus Christ of Fender Stratocaster players. Jimi re-wrote the guitar playing book and DG took over the Stratocaster king after JH died. The best album from JH was Axis Bold As Love. DG now has a guitar strap that looks identical to the one JH had in his last year of performing. JH is jamming in heaven with John Entwistle, John Bonham.

Nov 6, 2009 - Well, he did that just after saying "Purple Haze, all in my eye", so I think he kinda did that on purpose.
rhydiantitch Says:
Nov 7, 2009 - i aslo think that bold as love was his best electric ladyland was way too heavy for my liking and are you experienced was a bit too basic if the cry of love came out, it would beat bold as love
