Nov 7, 2009 - Well think about it. I think he did do the simulator to train. But would you want to be in an airplane with a pilot who hasnt even flown the actual plane before? I dont think so. And also the guy holding the yoke is the trainer. He is holding it in case something goes wrong with the new guy. The new guy is in the pilots seat on the right

Nov 8, 2009 - autoland will flare and land. the autopilot was shut off at :45....

Nov 10, 2009 - lol autopilots dont land they cant, they cant judge for sideways movement , how ever that was a landing, a nice landing indeed, all i can say from a pilots point of veiw , if you can walk away from a flight , well thats a landing , hehe
ThunderbirdGT Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - Actually my dad says autopilots can land on an MD-90. Every once in a while he'll land the plane manually. When I grow up I want to fly 777s. I can't wait. I love them a lot.

Nov 11, 2009 - there will be something else by then....
dpbusche Says:
Nov 11, 2009 - Hey Ole tasty... A good portion of the global fleet of airplanes can "autoland" with the autopilot engaged---the autopilot corrects for the crosswind during the landing phase, including retarding the throttles and applying the brakes. Even you could land the airplane that way...all you need to do is put the flaps out and landing gear out before you land, that is not automated. The autopilot does a much better job than the old slow minded pilot---! An MD11 Pilot
dpbusche Says:
Nov 11, 2009 - Hey Genious...ah no to all your comments. I have landed at HKG and it was a real landing, in a real airplane---
josedodgers Says:
Nov 11, 2009 - Does anybody know at how many feet per second do they descend at when approaching the runway?
Strollingchimp Says:
Nov 11, 2009 - I'm not sure but I think about 300 feet per minute
josedodgers Says:
Nov 11, 2009 - @Strollingchimp hmm... interesting, thanks
jesusperalese Says:
Nov 12, 2009 - It depends on the speed that they are descending at and if its in Precision or Non-Precision Approach

Nov 14, 2009 - bout 800ft/min on the ils i'd guess maybe a bit more for a 777.
iloveairfrance Says:
Nov 14, 2009 - Good job. Maybe I will do a similar shot soon, but I can't in an american fly (forbidden since 11/09) so I have to choice an other destination.. And I have no time.... your is nice :)
Akonsmackdat Says:
Nov 16, 2009 - How the fuck is it ugly... best airport in the world dumshit
Foufouvideos Says:
Nov 16, 2009 - No, it isn't! Kuala Lumpur is the best on the world!
Afactor18 Says:
Nov 16, 2009 - Dont now they have autopilot features that assist with the landing?
bulbadox Says:
Nov 16, 2009 - Yeah, they dis-engage autopilot as soon as they line up with the runaway below 800ft, no one likes auto landing just in case they screw up.
crankdat1on1 Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - lol the autopilot disengage sound @ 0:45
D4mo84 Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - Some aircraft's spoilers need to be armed before they can be deployed. They are also sometimes used as an airbrake to help slow the aircraft down on approach although only minor degrees. Vast majority of pilots do simulator training before stepping into a cockpit, but the only way to learn is by doing the real thing. Flying without passengers is by far the best thing to do, you cannot risk safety. Airlines afford what they have to afford to operate successfully with the best pilots possible.
drummerkid69 Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - hard landing ha wow...
XaircraftX Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - Cool video! looked like a hard landing =P

LockerzUnlocked Says:
Nov 7, 2009 - why is he holding the yoke while the ap is on? what is the plus hundred callout for? why do they arm the spoilers i thought they land unarmed and then are deployed by pilot after touchdown incase of a go around, so this is how they train new guys, why not in a simulator or take them on an actual revenue flight and teach them then - isnt doing circuits in an empty 777 expensive
