Sep 16, 2009 - Gamecube underachieved (though it has better games than Wii) and Wii is really running out of steam. Zelda can only keep Nintendo afloat for so long. Sony has sold more consoles than Nintendo, Sega, and Microsoft with PS2 is the #1 selling system of all time and PS1 being 4th. Christ Sony has sold more PSP's than Nintendo has sold Wii's.

If it was console + handheld + all generations, it would be Nintendo DS - PS2 [I think not sure upon that to be honest I haven't checked in a while.] - PSP - Wii. Sony did, video game suicide with the PS3. It could of launched in 2008 and would of done better. The PS2 could of lasted another few years. But Sony jumped the gun.

And yes,PS2 had sold more than DS (when I say best selling I mean hand-held, home ,etc, ) Now that the PS3 is at a reasonable price even poor people can afford people will no longer overlook it and you can expect sales to increase a lot (last week alone 1000%). Wii is their weakest release since Virtual Boy. To kiddy and few good games minus TVC, MadWorld,new Zelda. Most of it's great gaming library are ports from GC,PS2 Virtual Console.

If you put it to a vote, as in PS3 Game vs DVD, I'm guessing a large sum would pick DVD... Anyways that's besides the point. I fully agree with you on the Wii though. I don't think like Virtual Boy, more like the Gamecube. The Gamecube hit hard for the first 2 years, then slowly died in 2004. I'm guessing at the next E3 there will be some kind of Wii 2 or something.

Oct 15, 2009 - PS3 will probably claim No.2, behind the Wii. 360 will move to No.3. PS3 is selling faster than the PS3 and the Wii at the moment. And 360 and PS3 sales should meet soon. I don't think people buy PS3 for Bluray, its a plus point and a nice handly feature. But it is a gaming console first.
