Nov 17, 2009 - raver let this Alaskan who has seen plenty of glaciers up here tell you why this childs glacier is different. First, (it is the only glacier in the world that the terminus9front of it), extends out into a river! Second the copper river has some of the highest volume of water coming down it doing about 11knots, so the face of the glacier is getting (consently undercut by the rivers power), making it more unstable then most glaciers, making it one of the most constant calving glaciers on earth!
