Sep 10, 2009 - Polar bears are actually a modified form of the brown bear of which Kodiaks and grizzlies are a subspecies. Polar bears descend from a population of brown bears that evolved to live on the ice.

Sep 11, 2009 - RIP Bart....one day I hope people realize the intelligence and emotion these creatures posses and quit slaughtering them senselessly.

Sep 12, 2009 - Wasn't Bart a Kodiak? He looks more like a Kodiak than a Grizzly. Anyway, the relationship Doug and Bart developed is really movingly. I can't even imagine what was in Doug's heart when Bart died. If there were more people like Doug, this world would surely be a better place for animals and everybody in it.
