Sep 17, 2009 - Great pics - bring back memories of being snowed in at work at Globe Albany for 4 days. The roof of the Niag.Frontier Food Terminal blew off. The wind shook our building all night - we slept in rooms without windows for safety. It was quite an experience! The day it started coworkers set out for lunch on Fri; took hours to get back - it went from sunny to zero visibility in a matter of minutes. I got home Tues. by a circuitous route to find open roads - had to go cross town and haled part way.

Sep 21, 2009 - Great video. This was the reason I moved south(.!chicken!) I worked at Marine Midland and lived in Cheektowaga. Went to work that morning via Thruway in sunshine...was stuck at work for over 48 hours. They actually declared Marshall Law...or so we heard that night. Missed the 3rd(or 4th) episode of 'Roots' that night. They piled mountains of snow in parks and other places and in June there were still mountains of unmelted snow! I left Bflo 5 yrs later. I only visit in summer. LOL!

Oct 15, 2009 - One year later we did get exactly the same in the Netherlands. Hard to imagine in these days of global warming.

Oct 15, 2009 - I was 10 years old and lived in West Seneca when this happened. We lived in a ranch style house and the snow drifted all the way up to the roof. When the plows, or should I say front end loaders, finally did get through the streets looked like they were lined with 8 foot walls of snow in front of the houses with openings only where your driveway was.

Nov 4, 2009 - I remember being at the corner of Parkside and Jewett by the Buffalo Zoo and the snow on the side of the street was piled so high that when you stood on top of it you were the same height as the traffic light!

Nov 6, 2009 - Awesome footage. I was 9 when the Blizzard of '77 blew through. We lived in Niagara Falls on 3rd Avenue and I remember one of my mom's co-workers was stranded at our house with us. As a kid, you don't realize the magnitude of the storm. I remember being scared that night but also excited...NO SCHOOL! And I remember not being able to wait to go outside to play in ALL THAT snow.

Nov 10, 2009 - I was sixteen the year this happened. We were in the Watertown area (Jefferson County). My parents got stranded one town over (4 miles away) and couldn't get home for 3 days, It was so BAD, the biggest snowflakes I ever saw and they fell non-stop for days.

Nov 11, 2009 - I was 16 and THE worst driver in the world! We were in Drivers Ed at the time and being taight to drive on the highway. Could have been the 290. I WAS THE DRIVER! Hehe...My teacher was a mess! One minute it was clear and the next, you couldn't see anything! My teacher thought out loud and said, we could stop and I drive but no one will see us. Keep driving. Obviously we made it back but it was tense.

Nov 20, 2009 - The tv had been warning of this storm for days, yet the schools refused to close. I kept my kindergartner home that day, and the storm hit shortly after the bus would have picked her up. The kids stayed all night at the school, trapped in there and sleeping on blankets in the gym. I am so glad I kept her home. My above ground pool had 4 feet of snow on top of it and we could step off the drifts onto the roof.
