Jun 16, 2008 - i'm with BMI right now. so everything i do after its recorded i send into BMI. Now do i have to mail them the song also? like an actual cd of the song for them to get the whole aspect of the song? these are questions that alot of people wonder.

Sep 9, 2008 - I signed up on BMI, but I have no idea what to do next, it's weird. They just grabbed my name and my band's name and info about me and said I was signed up. I need a BMI account number to sign in, but they never gave me one...wtf

Nov 10, 2008 - swiffomatic.....no you don't have to send them the song...... once you go online and register the song with BMI you'r cool. They then have all the information they need to track the song.

Nov 5, 2009 - Great video, but I do not understand too much: let's say I sample a song in order to create a beat, how can I figure out if that song has copyright or not?

DotsandMusic Says:

Nov 19, 2009 - The song most likely is registered, and you have to contact the label about clearance. There are also companies that help with sample clearances.
