Nov 20, 2009 - funding is not the problem with our public schools. according to "no federal failure left behind" schools today have 4x as much money per student then they did in the 1960's. but graduations have not gone up. in many cases they have gone down. in CA were i live schools used to be a model for the rest of the country. now they are #39(i think) so throwing money at a problem doesn't fix anything.

Nov 20, 2009 - "no federal failure left behind" haha i like that. the problem with that was not the money that it gave. it pays schools for the test scores their students get on special nationalized tests. as a member of my school's student government, i know where the money that we got from NCLB has gone. it goes towards a special program for the teachers at my school so that they can teach us how to ace the test. that is not school funding. that is test funding.

Nov 20, 2009 - you're right. i do not see a socio-economic barrier between the two parties, however i do see a racial barrier, both in national elections and in local elections. hispanics, african americans, asian americans, and other ethnic groups consistently vote democratic. the reason that historically ethnic groups have been historically excluded from enfranchisement is because the more conservative party of the time knew that those votes would go the other way.

Rep are viewed as racist because they are less likely to support social programs i.e. welfare. the dems appeal to minorities by promising more welfare.(watch the Obama free money vid) but welfare keeps people poor because you make more money if you work. so dems keep people on welfare then get there vote by promising more welfare. thats pretty racist to me.

Nov 21, 2009 - how ever i watch a focus group on the news recently were there were about 50 black conservatives. some were rich and educated, some were working class. basically people who support dems do so for the social programs. but if you work you dont want ur hard earned money going to things other then roads, fire men, and thing everyone gets to use.
