Oct 18, 2009 - All I can say...WOW.
MrArekusa Says:
Oct 18, 2009 - The eye area on the end result look horribly big. If you're going to do something as fake as that, at least try to do it properly please. This is why I reallly dislike the whole fashion industry.
MrArekusa Says:
Oct 18, 2009 - You're an idiot. What they're saying is that there is ONE look that girls seem to think they have to achieve to feel the least bit good about themselves. This video is explaining that that kind of beauty does not exist, never will, and it does not compare to natural and unique beauty. In my opinion, all those Hollywood drones look the same. I prefer natural looking people because they're all so different and exotic. But people these days are getting frightenlingly similar.

Oct 25, 2009 - I think models were pretty uniform in their appearances twenty years ago. Today, it seems that there is more variation in style and appearance, but a few basic elements are the same. If you want to know what is really considered "attractive" in society, all you have to do is look at amateur porn sites, and see what type of women get the most views. The favorited ones NEVER look like the models in billboards and magazines.

Oct 25, 2009 - Ah yes, Harry Mudd's "Venus drug." Or an equally effective placebo.

MegaCommentWhore Says:
Nov 14, 2009 - i thank the world for ugly insecure people, I want to be a professional photo retoucher and photoshop artist, and without them i'd be out of a job.
MegaCommentWhore Says:
Nov 14, 2009 - That's how it works in beauty-land, in my theory you have two extreme ends, a seriously disfigured person on one end and that lovely photoshop image on the other. the disfigured person have fewer qualities similar to everyone else, however everyone can identify more with the beautiful photoshopped image. get angry all you want but people would much rather be on the photoshopped end than the disfigured one.
MrArekusa Says:
Nov 14, 2009 - There is a middle ground you know. And I'm not talking disfiguration, I'm talking variety. To be honest, imperfections are what makes someone perfect imo.
MegaCommentWhore Says:
Nov 14, 2009 - Yes there is a middle ground for "variety" or those with various blemishes and imperfections, but at the end of the day where ever you fall on the spectrum of beauty with all the blemishes and imperfections, there is a person out there with lesser imperfections and blemishes than you. No one really wants to be in the middle, we all have repressed desires to move as far away from the disfigured extreme, we all have desires to look beautiful in the eyes of everyone.
MrArekusa Says:
Nov 15, 2009 - The only reason that people worry about being absolutely perfect so much these days is because of the things the video shows. I honestly don't think that people would worry that much if the media didn't exist, because it plays a big part in that area. All I am saying is that people should not be so deluded by this and be so focused on being perfect for everybody else, it's just not possible, and frankly, it's just idiotic.
MrArekusa Says:
Nov 15, 2009 - There is this ONE image out there for everyone to achieve, pouty lips, big eyes, size 0, big breasts, nice bottom, long legs, perfect nose, and a perfectly symmetrical face, and Everyone has imperfections whether you like it or not, and you are never going to be beautiful to absolutely everyone because beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
MegaCommentWhore Says:
Nov 15, 2009 - So now your blaming the media for your own insecurities? Sure looking at a celebrity photoshopped to perfection can be intemidating to especially those that can't keep up with natural beauties, but wouldn't it be easier to just ignore it? I never said perfection was attainable, just that people desired it. But you are right, there are people with fetishes for things most people would find unattractive.
MrArekusa Says:
Nov 15, 2009 - Yes. The media is to blame. Oh I never said I was insecure, I said others are. Don't assume things when you don't have any evidence of said things being said. And no, apparently it isn't so easy to ignore it, or there wouldn't be so many problems with most young girls, even boys, these days. The media is all around us people in the Western world.
Parv03 Says:
Nov 16, 2009 - from some one so unattractive, she went to some one looking like a model. the media impacts women in such a harsh way

Oct 12, 2009 - An interesting tidbit - plainer women are preferrable models because more work can be done with them. Different styles and looks are easier to acheive with these models.
