Sep 28, 2009 - elamothe: the comment was not directly to you, specifically, but to the people (because there are some) who feel passionately that mt. ararat should not have been in dc. the same people who didn't mind they were there until they won. people have a tendency to do that after the fact. if people had real questions, the questions should have come up prior to the competition. i c ur angle, but again - you're singing to the choir (no pun intended) you might want to direct this dialogue to HSTS.

chocolategem7 Says:

Sep 28, 2009 - my comment is this - why are you all wasting your time and effort disputing this persons question/comment? the bible clearly states in Proverbs 15:1 "A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger." the more you anger the more you make yourself wrong as well.

chocolategem7 Says:

Sep 28, 2009 - they are entitled to ask what is a very valid question. though this may not truly be the place to ask it because it does depict a tone of jealousy. however, you calling the person a hater isn't right either. just keep it moving. Mt A was placed in this division by HSTS and won by GOd's grace and favor.

chocolategem7 Says:

Sep 28, 2009 - Now if something wrong was done by the officials then that is their issue not MT. A. They came to utilize the gifts that God gave them as did the other choirs. If wrong was done then God will handle it. other than that - let it go and show good sportsmanship and the LOVE of Christ by congratulating one another on a job well done. MT. A you rep'd Pgh well.

Sep 28, 2009 - Trini - awesome as usual. elamothe - is there a video of your choirs performance - and all the others as well. I would love to see them. Kudos to the person who spoke on how the football teams are divided. One of the few comments that took the high road and used logic in their answers

americanidol36459 Says:

Sep 28, 2009 - ...the logical answer is to direct this dialogue or this "valid question" to HSTS.

Sep 28, 2009 - They whispered, conspired, they told their lies (God favors me) My character, my integrity, my faith in God (He favors me) Will not fall, will not bend, wont comprimise(God favors me) I speak life and prosperity and I speak health (God favors me) GOD IS IN CONTROL !!!!

Gospelonline3 Says:

Sep 28, 2009 - Wow! All these comments just prove my point guys that at the end of the day we are NOT to compete with each other. I DO NOT believe that GOD is pleased with His children competing against one another. It can only cause division as displyed on here. Yes the choir was excellent but so were many others and what does this choir winner say for the rest of them? That GOD likes them more? NO!!!! God forbid if some of the "losing"members had low self esteem or on the brink of giving up on GOD. THINK!

Gospelonline3 Says:

Sep 28, 2009 - I'm not condeming anyone but Talent competitions are a Worldly concept. The church is NOT a reality show, an American Idol!! Now if verizon would figure out a way to give us $10,000 without having to judge us for it then I would be impressed with them. I WOULD NEVER ENTER A COMPETITION to show that I might be better than my brothers and sisters no matter WHAT the prize!!

1911jc Says:

Sep 29, 2009 - So does that mean CHRISTIAN shouldn't do talent shows, perform at the Apollo or the Stellar Awards or partake in the Grammy's? Those are all competitions

Gospelonline3 Says:

Sep 29, 2009 - "1911jc": as stated, I don't believe CHIRSTIANS shoud compete against one another in any form. For me that includes Stellars, Grammys (Christian Music Catergory) etc. Now, once you take the game out of the Christian circles then the rules change. If my Christian song is allowed in a secular competition where folk are singing about sex, sin, and darkness then my "light" will dismiss the "darkness" everytime. If I win or lose I'm still a witness with no agenda to be the "best" witness.

slowdownmane Says:

Oct 2, 2009 - dude, you take yourself waaaay to serious. You to realize the work these performers are puting into praising the Lord!! I really don't think there are any loosers here and if your God given talent was to sing and you were heard by thousands than I think you would understand. Until then stop using the word of Jesus as if you posssess authority over others when YOU are just an much a sinner as any or do you have a stone to throw.....think not buddy.

Gospelonline3 Says:

Oct 3, 2009 - Wow Slowdownmane!! Not sure who's comment your replying to but it seems like someone has hit a nerve. But for the sake of typing all this, let's say it's mine you've replied to. YES, I take it seriously that God's people SHOULD"NT compete with each other. and YES, they worked extremely hard and long hours to perfect their gift, and YES, there are loosers, other wise everybody would have "won" the Cash! and YES, GOD can expose you to masses without the appearence that others are less gifted.

Gospelonline3 Says:

Oct 3, 2009 - in conclusion, As bad as the church needs this money, I totaly disagree with how Verizon is providing it and I"M NOT ALONE!! I"m NOT condeming anyone, just voicing my opinion and trying to bring awareness to the influence of the world's mentality on the church. The world needs to adapt the churches principles NOT the other way around. God Bless You!! Peace.

MEDIUMMOE229 Says:

Oct 4, 2009 - Can't we alll just get along....my goodness....Congratulate the choir and keep it moving...I mean really....Peace in the valley!!

MotivatedVoter Says:

Oct 6, 2009 - It is apparent that the spirit of the Living God was all over this choir and it filled the atmosphere. They were par excellent and I believe as Marvin Sapp said, "Jesus is theirs."

boi4rm703 Says:

Oct 7, 2009 - My choir was in this same region that night. We competed in the small choir category. But this really doesnt feel like a competition. Its just another praise and worship experience. The fellowship we had that night was way greater than a competition. All the choirs interacted with each other making it and awesome fellowship experience. I would encourage any church choir to do this. It really isnt a competition. Its just church!!!! lol

MrsBanks24 Says:

Oct 8, 2009 - This Choir is a wonderful truly blessed who can find anything bad to say about praising the lord and sharing it with others if competition is sharing and spreading praise wonderful judge not thou shall not be judged god bless i pray u find something better to do than crictize others gospelonline3

Gospelonline3 Says:

Oct 13, 2009 - Well, Boi4rm703 that's nice to hear. I don't doubt that the fellowship was sweet. That should be the case with mature christians. However, I just can't accept the judging "who's the best" part of the evening. We just shouldn't be judging each other! Is there anyone out there who agrees? Mrsbanks24: This choir IS BLESSED!! and ofcourse there's NOTHING wrong with praising sharing the Gospel the problem is in fact the JUDGING! the very scripture U used! Our gifts should not be Judged!!
