The kid was kicking at the others the Ref was perfectly in his right to do what he needed to in protecting the other players. Maybe the other parents should have rushed and beat the kid because he was acting like a jackass, but looking at his dad I can see where he gets it. The kid should be completely banned from the rest of the game for his actions. Higher levels that results in a fine. His dad too.

Nov 22, 2009 - First you don't know if this is the father of the child..Second watch the video and pay attention to the kid he is picking up..the kid was kicking and swinging at the other players laying there..the ref pulled him up to pull him away from the play..he yanked him kind of hard..but the big black dude looked real smart attacking the ref in front of the kids...way to go genious...the coach deserved a good tazing...

Nov 23, 2009 - no matter how you put it to watch the video the ref did not have any right to do that..and even if the child was squirming the ref did not have to grab him that way.. if the ref really did not do anything wrong, then he would of reacted differently to it maybe even apologizing for it but he knew exactly what he did that's why you are able to see that he was just playing it off...and all those other people are stupid taking the refs side. if that was your child how would you react?

He didn't hurt the kid and yeah the kid deserved to be yanked out of the pile. Had I been the ref I would have done the same thing, because he could potentially injure another player. So yeah I would say protecting 2 or 3 kids while disciplining 1 is not wrong in my opinion and I'm sure the other players parents were thankful. and the ref did just pick him up at first but

At that point I would have banned him from play the rest of the game and if the dad didn't like that I would have them removed from the premises. That kids conduct should never be put up with and his dad should have taught him better. Maybe a little respect would have gone along ways.
