Its what should and should've been backing us in our dollars. I'm not sure gold proves god exists either. You can have your beliefs but just explore other reasons besides "god made it so".

Gold is attractive to look at, easily workable, a good conductor and so is useful in many ways, also it is difficult to find and takes a lot of man-power to mine, THAT is why gold is valueable, because of it's scarcity. If it was in thick seams on easliy accessible hillsides the price would be much lower. To say "God made gold valuable" is idiotic, what was valuable 100 yrs ago is cheap now.

Nov 19, 2009 - @wordavee I found gold back in 05 just shy of the Yukon. Piece of cake. There are mother lodes everywhere. They just don't know where to look. I asked the Lord to send gold from space once, but I missed my friend's swimming pool in Suva Fiji in '78 and it landed in the Outback of Australia instead so I asked again in Jakarta in '82 and it hit the Indian ocean. Nice shootin' Tex. In my global travels, I'm usually around where gold is. It's much more valuable still in the ground.

Nov 19, 2009 - @pwn4p8oh, you got it backwards. As of 11/16/09, gold was at record highs rising by $20. So using gold as a constant, the market gain of aprox. 130 points was actually a decline. So that's less gold buyable by the same amount of stock than a couple of days ago, not less stock with the same amount of gold. Inflation tricks amateures into thinking their stocks are going up. In fact they're loosing money. God condemns inflation as a "more money for less product" rip off by crooks. Illusions.

There's a bit of a problem with the starving, they're being victimized by people abusing their free will. I did have some success in Africa, that was when I was a teen ager and God had N.W. Pirie of Rothhamsted Experimental stations develop a devise that extracted protein from green leaves; saved millions of Biafrans. Had to keep them from worshiping the protein machines...
