Jul 28, 2009 - My best friend is a lipstick lesbian, and she HATED this show with a passion, because of the hypersexuality, and because every female character was magically gay, while in the real world, my friend couldn't meet someone to save her life. Does anyone else think this series was kind of extended wish fulfillment on the part of the creator? Or that it perpetuates the stereotype of all gay people being midless sex monsters who do nothing but sleep with each other?

Aug 2, 2009 - "Hook ups" are not really her thing. She's a little too stolid for that. She actually wants to date someone, and NYC, believe it or not, isn't too good for gay women. Gay men, yes, gay women, no. Yeah, I actually did like the first two or three seasons, the last few, though... Oy. Yes, a Lipstick Lesbian is a femme lesbian. For whatever reason, the friends I have are really fond of the terminology, along with "sporty," "butch" and "goldstar."

No dice, though. We both have the same problem: we tend to talk to each other instead of trying to hit on any girls when we go out with each other. It's a pity, she's beautiful, and one of the sweetest and smartest people I've ever known. She deserves someone special.
